Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

It's so popular and played so often for a reason.

Rock and Roll All Night (Party Every Day) - KISS

It's THE Rock and Roll Anthem, so that makes it best rock and roll song in my eyes.

Oh believe me, if I were compiling a list of my own personal all-time favorites it would look somewhat different than the actual "top songs of all time" lists that have been compiled over the past 40 years or more. I was setting my personal tastes aside and talking about which songs have actually made the #1 spot the most times than any others over that time.

I've had a radio on almost constantly since the late 60's. :D

You could ask me this question everyday for a year and get 365 different answers.
Today the answer is "Welcome to the Jungle"

Wild Horses by the Stones is another favorite

No doubt. If you asked me top 10 favorite all time rock bands, that would change a little every day as well

Then you aren't old enough to remember Light My Fire . . . the AM radio version.

Someone with a fucking clue. Nobody rocks harder than those bastards and they've been doing it for around 30 years.

Even though I agree with most of what ya said lol

'I used to love her' and a few others are great, and classic. Im only 23 so GnR was kickin ass when i was 14 and impressionable

To me theres more to rock than just what you hear on a CD. Axl was badass for a few years. I guarentee he's had more primo ass in his bed than you or me.

But the lizard king remains the best all time rock star. Dionysus.

tree 06-05-2005 02:24 AM

i just wanted to add that smack loves manass :thumbsup

That and "Hey Jude" were the songs I remember being the most overplayed of the 60's.

Personally:

Pink Floyd - Echoes
Guns 'N Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower

Can't choose just ONE, or fifty for that matter.

PF were never a top tech players - basicly Its very easy to play their things and I remmeber I could play complete "Wall" cd some time ago.
but that sound , that sound - only ABBA (and I know it sounds strange) can compare with audio arangements , mixing and audio engineering

beta-tester 06-05-2005 03:30 AM

Metallica - Fade to Black
Deep Purple - Smoke On The Water
Led Zeppeling - Starway To Heaven

taibo 06-05-2005 03:47 AM

Nothing against Bob, but that is like trying to compare a well built horse and buggy, to a well tuned F-1.

They are not even in the same class.

CDSmith 06-05-2005 04:09 AM

To add some perspective, here's some typical "of all time" lists for you guys to mull over...

VH1's top 100 of all time

Copy of the Jacobs Media top 50 list from 1995

About.com's top 500 of all time, this is the top 25 of that list

I would rank a few other songs quite high on my own list, such as....

Gimme Shelter -- stones
Teenage Wasteland --- the who
Sympathy for the Devil --- stones
This flight tonight --- Nazareth
Born to be wild ------ Steppenwolf
Band on the run ---- McCartney and Wings
Don't fear the reaper-- Blue Oyster Cult
American Woman ----- The Guess Who

Worldnet 06-05-2005 05:01 AM

All Right Now- Free

Va2k 06-05-2005 05:21 AM

Stairway to heaven by Led Zep.

Rock & Roll by Led Zep.

One by Metallica or how ever they spell it lol

Light my fire Doors

Hotel Calia Eagles

so many songs too many to list

TOM
