do webmasters not understand semi-exclusive content?

I've had some damn good "semi-exclusive" content available for quite some time on my site, and not a single webmaster has even inquiried about being interested in it. It's probably the best content I've ever shot, and probably some of the best content you can find online.

Is 4 sets, and a 15 minute raw video for $500 overpriced? Which leads me to believe webmasters must not understand the benefits of such a product. It's practically the same price as licensed content, guys. Only difference is I'm only selling it in a "package", and only 4 will be sold. EVER.

Anyway, I don't know why it doesn't generate interest. It's the same product I sell as exclusive. It's the same stuff my exclusive clients buy as much as I can shoot!

BTW, ICQ is 8231804.

there are no 'in betweens' in this industry - there are a small group of paysite owners in most niches who build their businesses on exclusive content and don't mind paying the price for exclusivity - they have no interest in semi-exclusive, it's either totally exclusive or nothing. the rest don't give a shit about content and are still able to make a buck with the $150 licensed DVD's 1000 other sites have. there is no market for 'semi-exclusive'. if you were shooting this content for another market like DVD and were offering Internet exclusivity - then you'd probably find buyers.

I agree with Mutt. As a customer, your value of the content is no where near my value of the content. One of the biggest advantages of exclusive content is that I can use it in most any way I see fit. With semi-exclusive, I can't.

I always think semi-exclusive content is like virtual-dedicated servers. Its an oxymoron.... I get the point of it but maybe it needs a new term to describe it.

Could it be that you have not marketed them the right way??? Maybe giving a deal of taking two of the sets and pay like 425$ or something like that.

Exclusive = Can be passed on/whored out to every affiliate under the sun for TGP use, fee sites, etc, in promoting your network.

Everything else including cute "semi" exclusive = 10 Domains max, etc, usual nonsense content provider rules.

See why it's not so hot now? Plus it's not hetero, otherwise I'd definitely be interested at that price for four HQ low-volume hardcore scenes.

Perhaps you don't understand the value of your product and what it is worth to your customers

Yes it is overpriced.
I've bought some semi-exclusive stuff for my paysite. $700 got me 5 sets and 5 videos (15-30 minutes each) semi-exclusive....only 2 TOTAL licenses sold and I get the same rights to the content as if I'd bought it exclusive. (Well I can't resell it...but I can give it to affiliates or whatever else I want)

You want $500 for 4 sets and a 15 minute video and you're going to sell it 4 times. I don't see the value in that.

I think they dont.

I would much rather promote (revshare) or join a paysite that updates twice or once a week with tons of content regardless of the type.

Xenigo don't bother with semi exclusive it's not worth it.

Go with Non exclusive, 10 URL licenses and no distribution to affiliates and you will sell a $40 set 10 to 20 times depending on the model and your skills. We tried semi exclusive last year and sales sucked. Or go with $10 sets and sell the set 100 times. Seems 100 people do not see it as saturated as sets given to 1,000 webmasters, especially LL and TGP owners.

There are many different ways to crack an egg in the Adult Internet.

1) A site with a twist and unique, such as bang bus.

2) A site giving the surfer lots of fresh new content every day.

3) Giving content to every affiliate in the land and saying exclusive is not saturated.

4) Buying cheap and throwing up sites weekly.

All work and all fail. The reason is simple. The surfer does not give a shit about the license/selling method we adopt on content. He wants to jerk off to an hour of his porn niche a day for a dollar and that's it.

Ha! From your mouth to the ears of the Goddess!! I wish that was the case, with more webmasters. No disrespect intentded to Mutt, but I thought the same thing, and thought I had the foresight to see that eventually MOST webmasters would realize EXCULSIVE content is the way to go. It only benefits them in the long run. I founded my company around this principal that we wouldn't peddle smut out to whoever pays a few bucks for licensing fees. That our comany would dedicate itself to CUSTOM EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. I have to say in hindsight; I was wrong. There are only a handful of webmasters out there who are buying Exclusive content, by my point of view. We discuss with our clients Ideas we have written, inclusively with a trendy and available URL name, & this service is done for free. Obviously we recruit, shoot the talent, provide webmasters with our 13 page model releases, and copy of IDs for EVERY SHOOT. We edit the video, split it up creatively into 3-4 parts for easy download and streaming, and create a trailer with original music composed in house. Most people have seen our stuff, and know it's good quality and we've received several compliments on our work. However, it seems that with all the extra effort and quality customer service, webmasters seem to be more interested in getting bulk quantites of footage that has been prostituted everywhere.. I do urge webmasters, NOT for our sales, but for theirs, you gotta spend some $ to make $. And there's nothing like having the content you want made to order according to your specs. So Mutt, if you know these people feel free to send 'em my way..
