2257 - I'm pulling sites so check my domain list if you run TGPs/LLs

hey everyone-
as I am a very part time webmaster and am not prepared for the ramifications of publishing my name and physical address for all my surfers to see I am pulling my sites.

I plan on only pulling images, videos and banners so HTML will still be up there and your surfers wont get 404 redirect hell. However, I know you all don't want that shit so I've included a list of my domains that are effected. If you run a TGP or LL I thought this would be helpful. Glad I sold my noncompliant site last year hehe. i would have had 25000 images to catalogue. SInce then, any new site I built has had documentation.

im just doing it so I can wait things out... I have other projects going on and it wont be a big loss to get out for a while. I just want to do things legally and professionally, rather than not be non-compliant and run the risk of getting in trouble with the government.

not to mention, something I was thinking about earlier.... if you are in compliance with the new 2257 rules sooner or later porn surfers will realize they can easily find your address. so that can mean they can contact if you if a paysite screws them over or they dont like something or they just want to give you shit.

also, is this far fetched but dont you think they christian extreme right will use this information to protest / harass webmasters? if you run a large company and can afford an attorney/pr then its just the cost of doing business. but if you are a webmaster that works a regular full time job and does online adult stuff outside of your home... youre pretty vulnerable.

I also wonder if anti-porn people will get your address and site info to call in fake CP reports so they feds will investigate you even if you've done nothing wrong.

I think you make some good points here. I would add I think the one of the real reasons behind getting average Joe Webmaster?s home address out there is so local law enforcement can do obscenity prosecutions. It is going to be awfully tough being a gallery builder in places like Alabama.

I think you make some good points here. I would add I think the one of the real reasons behind getting average Joe Webmaster?s home address out there is so local law enforcement can do obscenity prosecutions. It is going to be awfully tough being a gallery builder in places like Alabama.

Exactly. It's much easier for the DOJ help local law enforcement get obscenity charges if they know exctly where a webmaster lives. People in places like California don't need to worry as much but as you say anyone living in a Bible belt state will have to watch out. Hell in Alabama a woman got jail time for selling dildos. Dildos are illgeal in Alalbama even for married people apparently. Marrying your 14 year old cousin isn't by the way and I'm not making that up.

Also another take is not bible thumpers reporting you for CP or obscenity it's them calling you and harrassing you, putting flyers and signs up everywhere telling your town where the local "evil" pornographer lives. Can you blame some if they want to quit?
