Star Wars: The Triumph of Style over Substance
May the hype be with you...while the special effects of the Star Wars series have been great, the acting and stories have been atrocius.
I if I am not mistaken, the only actor/actress even nominated for an Academy Award in any of the five Star Wars films so far was Alec Guiness (for his supporting actor role as Obi-Wan Kenobi), and he lost. The first Star Wars episode was also the only one of the series to be nominated for Best Picture - it also lost (to Woody Allen's Annie Hall). ADG Webmaster |
