How Much Difference Does The Domain Make In SE Ranking?

Well there is a term I am targetting, it isn't overly competitive, and it is two words keyword1 keyword2. I also have an offer to buy the domain keyword1keyword2.com. But all else aside (excluding typein's, etc), how much difference will owning the domain make when I work towards getting high rankings? Is it worthwhile me even worrying about it from this point of view or not? Thanks in advance!

depends on the SE really. Yahoo loves domain names that include the keyword.

But it is always a plus if the domain name in included.

You might want to check out Adult SEO Blog - there is a tutorial on building a search engine friendly website, that begins with the picking of a domain name.

The SEO tutorial is in blog form so you will start at the end, and work your way up.

My theory on building a SE friendly site is the same as building a house. You put the wire in the walls before you put up the drywall, so you should build your site with the SE's in mind.

I have not read anywhere that led me to think that SE's prefer .com over .ws . . . . but I will consult with my pro and report back if she tells me I am wrong.

Having your domain in Search Engine Ranking could basically make a lot of difference...
How much, it always depends on how you present them on SEs..

What he said. Especially if your site is rich in the same keyword as well as your metatags.

If you optimize your site correctly (title, keywords, copy, etc) you can come up top on every search engine in no time.

so does Google.
Domain names are VERY important.
Do a search for a combined term (2 keywords) on most search engines, and look at the domains of the top results.

Ok, I thought that was the case. I guess .com has an advantage ove keyword1keyword2.ws obviously, but what about over .org?

i've read a lot of seo's comments that the domain is less important than it used to be but anytime you have a relevant domain with relevant content on it, it seems to rank higher than the same content on a less relevant domain from what we see over here.

this is all example domains of course

but I have domains like garry.com that get higher in se's for the term pussy licked than my pussy-licked.com domain

it is all in how you play, how smart you are, and when you do it...i don't think se rankings play much, if not no, part in ranking
