 Save another $500 and get a GL2 or VX2000 on e-bay. I've seen them both for around $1500. |

I'd run a google search. There are some compatability problems with certain cameras, and the firewire port if you are using XP SP2. Some camera's have a patch, or work around. Other's you are fucked.
Research all you can. You can get some nice cameras for $500.  |
