:2 cents: Save another $500 and get a GL2 or VX2000 on e-bay. I've seen them both for around $1500.

I have a gl2 for $1500 if anyone wants it... perfect condition

Did you ever have any problems with your GL2?

Even though my heads are clean, sometimes when it records a tape it will not let that tape be played in any other deck. It garbles the image and can only be played back in the GL2.

I'd run a google search. There are some compatability problems with certain cameras, and the firewire port if you are using XP SP2. Some camera's have a patch, or work around. Other's you are fucked.

Research all you can. You can get some nice cameras for $500.
