My friend thinks bandwidth is all a myth so hosting outfits can make money ...

She is hosting a live radio broadcast on regular residential Canadian SYMPATICO DSL, and does not think I can load the server enough to crash it.

Help me to show her elsewise!

how many Indian listeners you think she would get from GFY asshole??? this is the only place I could think of at 1:30AM tha tI could find enough people to try and crash a stream being run from residential DSL

How many does she have logged into the stream? It sounds fine here. No buffering or skipping problems at all.

If you go to the url given there is a webpage. It's probably reasonable to conclude that that webpage is hosted on her server as well.

If I could stream to a dozen or so at a time from my DSL connection I'd keep something going 24/7 as sticky content for various pages but Bellsouth's TOS prohibits it.

no-ip.com is one of those redirect to an IP services. You could host an entire site on your desktop if you have the bandwidth... and permission.
