Network Solutions/SnapNames cheating the system?

I was looking to purchase an expiring domain. I saw it expired on March 26, listed as awaiting release.

I go to Pool.com and others...none of them have the site listed as being released soon. Not listed on any site as a domain soon to expire.

Yet the auction has already begun on SnapNames, with the bidding already up to $700.

Isn't SnapNames owned by Network Solutions? Do they release good expiring domains straight to SnapNames? Can they do this??

Yes they do.

It's the latest trend since the drop houses gained so much power and Snapnames lost so much market share.

Now others are following suite with the same method.

This has been going on for quite some time now though.

Legal or not?

That's up in the air.

ICANN has shown that it's not a body who takes action to protect the domain industry.

Many see ICANN as a joke who do not enforce the policies in place.
