Buying TVs online. Have you done it? Experiences?

I want to buy this beautiful piece of ass within the next month or so: http://www.plasmabay.com/plasma/Prod...KU=KDF60XBR950

I've shopped around online and Plasma Bay seems to be the best choice. A great price (not the lowest), but from the many customer reviews I've looked at they seem to be an excellent company. I'm just a little edgy about buying this TV online.

Anyone have any good or bad experiences with Plasma Bay? Or maybe you can recommend a good company to work with?

Help!

well if they have a lot of good reviews I'm sure they are good. I don't know if I would end up ordering online or just goto a local store and pay a little extra.

I bought a Toshiba 52" DLP HDTV from Amazon 2 months ago.

No kidding. With shipping they had by far the best price online, which blew the stores away by many hundreds of dollars.

The delivery was on time, the TV flawless, installation included. Couldn't have been happier.

I like http://circuitcity.com you can order online and pick it up at a local store, and plus if you find a cheaper price they'll refund your money and plus "x" % can't beat that.

Help!
Sly, check out http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com

They seem to rate Panasonic's the highest as far as plasma goes.

I've had 3 people ICQ me warning not to buy plasma. I'm not buying plasma! If you click the link you'll clearly see that the TV is a LCD rear projection. I've actually put a fair bit of research into TVs lately and I know someone who has this TV, which is why I want it. I fell in love with the bugger!

My 32" is cool and all but this daddy is king shit.

I have that TV. Great TV isn't it? On to the topic at hand. Review their shipping policy in detail. Make sure that if it arrives damaged it will be replaced ASAP. You may see with some companies that they want you to unbox the TV, plug it in and make sure it works while the delivery driver is still there. If they driver has a ton of deliveries to make he may not want to wait on you to get this done especially when the shipping company has probably told him to get out of there ASAP so if it is fucked they aren't stuck with the bill for it. It's be nice if they shipped via FedEx or UPS because they can get insurance checks out very quickly but I don't think they even accept plasma TVs for shipment anymore. Your best bet may be to see if there is a retailer online that is close to where you live and pay for it online then go and pick it up if they stock it. You may, however, find that a lot of these retailers are dropshipping from distributors.
