Faster. Western Digital has a 15000 RPM SATA Raptor.

what kind of hd? i think serial ata only goes up to 10k rpm... i think after that you have to go scsi

10rmp is enought i got a 2.8 xeon 2 gigs ram 10rpm sata and i dont see a need for anything faster.

I havent heard of this ether - besides the jump from 10K to 15K would be huge for platter speed - as well issues of balance - etc... physical limits are coming into play - if you want real speed - the ultimate in speed - you should really look at Solid State Disk technologies - expensive - but fast as hell:
