blogs: quality or quantity game?

I've been reading a lot about logs lately.

the question of the day is:

Are blogs best with quality or quantity?

Should you be concentrating on just 1-50 blogs, but update those daily, with actual writing opposed to just link spamming.

OR

build couple hundred of them, link spam, or atleast post the same stuff over...and over again.

a guy on another forum was doing over 1000 blogs, and making around $1k/week. he was mainly going off of SE hits, but those 1000 blogs do add up quite nicely.

whata you guys think? any blogmasters on?

i guess the other question is how many blogs do you guys own?

i mean, if you had coulple hundred blogs and you intend on making quality posts on each blog daily, it's quite a monstrous task to take on.

definatly quality.

its better to have 1 GREAT blog thats updated daily with pics and loads of keywords for SE spiders to feed on, rather than 50 shitty blogs that are never tended to.

If he is making $1K/week on his blogs that means his blogs are averaging less than $1 ea. in income since he has over a 1000.

Maybe have 10 and build them all up. Get good PR and SE traffic. Have a lot of text and a lot of links. Make it basically a TGP that is text rich. I've even seen a few blogs with trade scripts. That might be an idea but I'm not doing that yet!

If a surfer comes to a BLOG that is total crap, what makes you think that he would then click a link on it, and purchase something???
I would say that the chances have been lowered to less than 10%. But if the blog may actually be worth reading, then you are above 50%

I'd like that thread, but its on another forum.

I think that guy was doing them like freesites, build one each day, and eventually it all adds up.

if you even have one or two blogs and if you update them with content every day or every other day, i think thats better than having 5-10 and not giving them equal attention. so its quality to me

Quality all the way. If you have a thousand "blogs", odds are you don't even have one real blog. You've got a thousand crap templated TGPs running on blog software.

I maintain two quality blogs updated more-or-less-daily, and a few more that only get updated once a week or so. I could double that, but it would be work. If I tripled it, I'd be busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest.

Thousand blogs my ass.

If you're looking for DIRECT Traffic--QUALITY

If you're looking for GOBS of SE Traffic -- QUANTITY (there's a trick to this, hit me up)

Think for the future. SE are getting wise, surfers are getting more sophisticated.. I'll place my bet on quality. Of course if your outlook is short term then who knows..

Not after looking at the peice of crap example he posted.... looks just like those SE doorway pages people used to make before PR became a factor, probably he's working on the same principle.

Absolutely NOT. He makes $4000.00 a month with blogs only, doesn't really matter if he has 10 or 1000 (unless he purchased one domain name for each one of them of course, that would make a difference to his net profit).

I remember seeing in his post he was starting to make about $600-$700 per day, I think thats a nice some of cash even if it is 1000 shitty blogs.

Having 1000 blogs and generating $1k per week is far from impressive considering the amount of work put into it (even they beeing shit fake-blogs)...

check the above post, he was saying later in the thread he was upto about $700 per day, now that is impressive for blogs! It doesnt matter how shit they are, the idea is working for him and he is making money. I dont think he cares how his blog looks but just the money he is making from it.

I still take quality over quantity. I like to look at the big picture, the money will eventually come in, once your audience grow, and the trust is there.

Why make a hundred, or a thousand half ass blogs, when you can make one superior one? That would be a lot of work spread over a 100 or 1000 that you could just put into one kick arse blog.
