I can't remember who I got my GMail invite from so I can't say they sent this, but it it is odd that the first UCE in a 4 month old account that so far has only been used to forward stuff for an off-site backup just happens to be directed to webmasters. Would be a nice scam to give someone time to get used to using an e-mail account then hit them with the marketing.

I just went halfway through the process of sending an invite. In previewing the "send" message it said:

Once you create your account, * will be notified with
your new @gmail.com address so you can stay in touch with Gmail!

Answered my question.

I have 50 GMail invites available to people with traffic

OMG, LOL... now I really wish I remember who I got my GMail invite from... I visited the site in the spam and it said:
