nah, but you'll have gaping bloody holes in your mouth that will be bleeding for around 3 days and take about 3 weeks or longer to close up

when your mouth opens, watchout!

Oh... and make sure you don't rip open the wounds up by sucking on something or you will feel pain like you have never felt pain. I think it's called a "dry socket" or something like that.

One of mine did that. FFUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKK it hurt.

I worked in dentistry 13 years before entering the porn world. I've seen all kinds of things with wisdom teeth.

The Doc will most likely give you Tylenol 3 with Codeine or Vicodin. There will be a blood clot that forms after the tooth is extracted. It's very important not to dislodge that blood clot, or you will get a dry socket. A dry socket is where you have bone exposed to air. That is one of the worst pains known to man.

You will not be able to drink through a straw or smoke a cigarette. If you do, you run the risk of dislodging the blood clot.

You will need to rinse your mouth with warm water. Warm salt water is not the best thing to do because if used too much, the salt will dry out your gum tissue and interferes with the healing. They will most likely give you a water pick to use to flush out food particles. Be careful brushing your teeth for the first few days. If you scrub the area too hard, you will irritate the healing tissue and it will be much longer healing time.

The bone will take a year or so to completely fill in from the extraction. During this time, you might get little flecks of bone coming out through the tissue. This is normal and can irritate the tissue. Whatever you do, do not take a toothpick or your fingers to try and dislodge the bone chip. Go see your dentist and they will remove it for you. It takes less than a minute.

If the extraction site is deep, they will close the area with a stitch or two. Some will use the disolving sutures, some will not. Whatever you do, do not mess with the sutures. If they begin to come loose and are irritating, let the dentist trim them or remove them.

If the teeth are fully erupted, you might swell a little from the procedure. Some people do, some don't. Your mouth and jaws are going to be sore for a few days. They stretch your jaw quite a bit to get at the wisdom teeth.

Do not rinse with any moutwash that contains alcohol, like Listerine or Scope. The dentist will probably give you a medicated rinse to rinse with that will help the extraction site heal. You need to make sure you keep the area clean as possible.

Depending on how much work it took to get the teeth out, will directly effect how sore you are and what foods you will able to eat. For the first few days, eat soft foods that you do not have to work your jaw muscles too hard. Avoid the crunchy stuff like raw veggies and chips and other snack foods. Do not eat popcorn either. Stick to pudding, Jell-O, mash potatoes, soups, ice cream...

If the extraction site is sore, wet a tea bag and place it over the extraction site. This will help the healing tissue.

Whatever you do, do not use Ambesol or Orajel stuff. These will irritate the tissue. The healing tissue is very tender and fragile. If you use these things too much, you run the risk of a chemical burn forming on the healing tissue. Just use a tea bag or ice chips. Even Baby Ambesol can be pretty harsh on the healing tissue.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled from my lower part of the mouth, in both sides.
In the right site, the dentist had to split the tooth into three pieces, before he could pull it out

Dude, get them pulled without anastetic like I did.....afterwards, they won't thaw out and hurt more....basically, from the time of the pulling, the pain afterwards will only become less and less

It also freaks out the dentist, may score you the nurse and is a tough guy story to tell your friends about

I wasn't put out when I had mine taken out..it wasn't overly painful after they gave me the numbing shots but what did bother me was the 'pressure' feeling as they were pulling. It was worth it though..feel much better with them out.

I had also two pulled 4 yrs ago, the left side had to be splitted in two before they can take it out. Apparently the tooth had pushed it's way out and was bending in growth.
It will hurt in awhile and the swelling will remain for a whole day. But that's better that having those two push the proper alignment of the other teeth
