that's in it's most simplest form.

Assuming you don't mean 1.5x as 1.5 times x.

Yep I mean, 1.5 times x and 3.5 times y. I want to know the x and y when 1.5x = 3.5y. But ofcourse these are just example numbers, so please post how you do it hehe.

Actually, 3x = 7y is simpler than the original equation. You can take it further. These are the simplest ways the equation can be arranged.

x = 7y/3

y = 3x/7

You need as many equations as variables to "solve".

No.

1.5x = 3.5y

You have to divide with the same number on both sides.

1.5x/1.5 = 3.5y/1.5

1x=2.333333333y

1x=2.3y

It's the same answer Einstien

1.5X = 3.5Y
For X:
Divide by 1.5 each side
X=3.5(Y)/1.5
X=2.33....

For Y:
Divide by 3.5 each side
Y=1.5(X)/3.5
Y=0.42857....

Thats one way.

Or i can say:

X=14
And
Y=6

To prove it
1.5x = 3.5y
1.5(14) = 3.5(6)
21 = 21

Or
X=28
Y=12

1.5(X) = 3.5(Y)
42 = 42

I can go on and on and on

Then again we learned this in 6th grade pre-algebra.
Why bring it up again.
