2 questions for home owners or those who have greenery in there yard...

How do I get rid of (permanently) bees and snakes???

Bees I am deathly alergic to and I don't have any epi-pens left. We have HUGE motherfucking bees at our new house, like bees that were created in a lab or something. Some are close to an inch or two in diameter.

And snakes.....

Arika found our first 3 foot long garter snake today, and we ain't gonna be able to host these bastards all summer.

What can we get to rid the bushes and plants of both these pesty beasts???

I have the spray for the damn bees, but they still chase me like I am there next meal...

I think they eventually die, but I want them gone before I have to spray them.

And the snakes.... Do they have like mothballs or some shit for snakes???

Call an exterminator about the bees. They'll do a thorough search of the house to make sure there aren't any holes in your walls where the bees can make a living, and will also ensure that there aren't any wasp nests hiding about. I'm deathly allergic to them as well.

As for the snakes, garter snakes aren't bad for you, they won't hurt you, but they eat the insects and small rodents that ARE bad for you and your garden. Leave 'em alone.

Make sure that if you have any flowering plants that you don't have them next to the house or you're just begging for bees. Keep the plants near the house the leafy kind with few to no flowers or sweet scents.

Good luck.

There is a pellet type of mixture you can spread in your yard to repel snakes. Think about getting a cat for outside too. The bees you are describing sound like carpenter bees. have an exterminator spray the wood exterior areas of your home for carpenter bees if that is the case. A good old fashioned tennis racket works wonders for them also, and can make for a fun afternoon in the yard..

They have stuff (powder) you can put down to keep snakes from coming around, but be careful not to trap any snakes in the area.

Sometimes they are already around. Some snakes are good snakes because they eat the other snakes and rodents. (I'm not kidding)

My best advice is to get a pest control man and tell him what you want accomplished. Some won't do anything about outside the house, but I had mine come over one weekend and help me get rid of a yellow jackets nest.

Bees- if you are that allergic, get rid of all flowering bushes and plants.

That's what I'm talking about, hitting shit as hard as I can...lol

I am buying a tennis raquet next time I am the store. Honestly I suck at spraying them. I run around like a little girl spraying everything and anything when they come after me. I forget to let go of the button. Bees are the one thing I know will send me into shock within a minute or so, so I know I am in a bad spot when I go looking for them.

I will look for the snake stuff next time I am at Lowes, sounds like it could help.

Thanks FFO. I think we may have to get rid of the flowering plants around the property. I have searched Hi and Low for any nests to no avail. I Don't think they are nesting here, they just come to visit and fuck with me and make me do a dance or two when I try to spray them.

As for the snakes..... I know the garter snakes are not bad, but Arika is scared shitless of them. I don't like snakes, but I respect that some of them are good for other pest problems. Unfortunately, the first one seen was right next to out "Private Space" outside on the deck, and I can't stand to think she is thinking of anything other than my trouser snake when she and I are in our little happy place out there...lol

when i lived with my parents they got bees all the time, they come out and spray for them once a year... and if the bees came back they would come back and respray for free. it usually works really good.

Hey man, I got more advice. I'm a south louisiana boy, I've seen shit in my boat that most people eat snow cones and pay admission to see.

The snakes: Get a fake owl or a fake bigger snake and perch it nearby.

The bees: If they are carpenter bees, they are rooting in the wood of your house. If you just bought/financed the home it was probably inspected.

If the damage is bad, the inspector, etc..... is liable for repair. If the damage is not bad, its probably a new problem which isn't bad to deal with.

If you find a nest of any kind, bees, yellow jackets etc.. get some spray foam. Wait until just after dark. They should all be in the nest by then.

Place a flashlight to the side of the nest about 7 feet away shining directly at the nest. Get on the other side and spray inside the nest.

If any escape, they will go stting the shit out of the flashlight instead of you.

If you are really allergic, have someone else do that part just in case.

LOLLLLLLLLLLL @ get a bigger snake

I am going to recruit someone else I think to do the bees thing for me, I am just not comfortable facing that kind of quick and shocking death...lol It's funny I've done some pretty crazy and dangerous in my life that included death as a risk factor, but in this case, I am willing to give into the reality that I am on the low end of odds at getting away from a pissed of bee and his pals.

I hate to pull out all the flowers and bushes, but that may be what has to be done. I don't think they are rooting from our house, they seem to fly off high and fast when I spray them, not like they are looking for a nest anywhere near where they are doing there little bee activities. I have searched hi and low here and cannot find any hives or nests stuck in or around the house...

I think I am going to call the Doc today and get some more epi-pens just in case. Even if I sit my happy ass inside while the Bee Guy does his thing, I want to be prepared if I get jumped by the like fuckers' buddies the next time I walk outside...lol
