Is FedEx.com Tracking Accurate?

I'm tracking a package, estimated time of arrival is 12th of april 12pm (today) but the package tracking last message was that it left Anchorage, AK on the 10th. So should I assume that it won't make it today or is it supposed to arrive anyway?

edit: oh and I'm located in NL Europe... not the US so the package isn't even tracked remotely close to me.

thanks for the comments everyone!

@Shemp
it should be a package (phone) but the fedex site says it's an 0.5kg envelope. It should be dutiable but I must say I have never had to pay any duties when getting deliveries from FedEx

Nope, straight from sender to Anchorage in Alaska... no updates after that.

it depends on one thing : if its send from a company to a company or not. If its not, customs (most of the times at Amsterdam or Luik) will do a random check, which will delay stuff (in AND outgoing) a day. If its biz and accompanied with 5 fold comm invoice etc then its pretty accurate. Mind you fedex uses 3rd party here. So if some drunk asshat gets the package and decided to take a coffeebreak first he can end up ringing at 8pm. Thats why we use UPS.

hmmm this ones from company to person, not sure how detailed the invoice is. Are you sure they use 3rd party delivery services here? I always see a lot of FedEx vans driving around in the neighborhood.

they do yes, depends on how busy they are, they hand out to 3rd parties, I tried to see some logic in it, but there isnt, sometimes they use own delivery sometimes 3rd party. That explains the price difference between fedex/dhl/tnt and ups.

I had something like that too. I was tracking a package and it said that the delivery date was the next day at like 10AM but it showed the package as being in like Alaska or some far Northwest place while I am on the east coast US. Got it at like 10:08 AM the next morning lol. I was like..."damn"

I've never had any problems with FedEx tracking on packages going to/from Sweden.

Fed Ex tracking has always worked well for me. I have received packages to the US from other countries without any problems.

Having worked at a FedEx datacenter up until three years ago, I can honestly say that these reports are quite accurate, but that depends on the location where the package has been scanned. Some locations only submit their reports to the database few times a day (mostly 3rd party companies), while the bigger HUB's get their data into the DB right away.

They always scan in the package they transfer at each point. They don't go directly to your house :P

They have other packages too that need swapping over at different points to go to different customers. (My friend works at FedEx in NL).

It automatically gets updated online!
