Is FedEx.com Tracking Accurate?

I'm tracking a package, estimated time of arrival is 12th of april 12pm (today) but the package tracking last message was that it left Anchorage, AK on the 10th. So should I assume that it won't make it today or is it supposed to arrive anyway?

edit: oh and I'm located in NL Europe... not the US so the package isn't even tracked remotely close to me.

aleck 04-12-2005 01:34 AM

always worked VERY accurate for me.

hydro 04-12-2005 01:36 AM

at least 50 orders through them now, i can't remember a time when their delivery times were wrong.

is it a letter or a package? sorry, i mean dutiable?

Calvinguy 04-12-2005 02:53 AM

When I receive something from US to europe it's quite accurate but their website does not update in real time....

pradaboy 04-12-2005 03:18 AM

thanks for the comments everyone!

@Shemp
it should be a package (phone) but the fedex site says it's an 0.5kg envelope. It should be dutiable but I must say I have never had to pay any duties when getting deliveries from FedEx :upsidedow

Nope, straight from sender to Anchorage in Alaska... no updates after that.

DutchTeenCash 04-12-2005 04:06 AM

it depends on one thing : if its send from a company to a company or not. If its not, customs (most of the times at Amsterdam or Luik) will do a random check, which will delay stuff (in AND outgoing) a day. If its biz and accompanied with 5 fold comm invoice etc then its pretty accurate. Mind you fedex uses 3rd party here. So if some drunk asshat gets the package and decided to take a coffeebreak first he can end up ringing at 8pm. Thats why we use UPS.

hmmm this ones from company to person, not sure how detailed the invoice is. Are you sure they use 3rd party delivery services here? I always see a lot of FedEx vans driving around in the neighborhood.

they do yes, depends on how busy they are, they hand out to 3rd parties, I tried to see some logic in it, but there isnt, sometimes they use own delivery sometimes 3rd party. That explains the price difference between fedex/dhl/tnt and ups.

tracking result updated!

Left Newark, NJ this morning at 6:44am and is still scheduled for delivery @ 12pm here in Holland lol... wonder how they're planning to do that :upsidedow

edit: it's 1:14pm already actually

NickPapageorgio 04-12-2005 04:15 AM

I had something like that too. I was tracking a package and it said that the delivery date was the next day at like 10AM but it showed the package as being in like Alaska or some far Northwest place while I am on the east coast US. Got it at like 10:08 AM the next morning lol. I was like..."damn"

justsexxx 04-12-2005 04:26 AM

HAd the same from Dell. It left Ireland at 9am, and was delivered here at 1pm:)

good to hear, not likely that they will make it at all for me unless they dust off a Concorde :upsidedow

webcrawler 04-12-2005 04:36 AM

Works fine with me.

swedguy 04-12-2005 09:53 AM

I've never had any problems with FedEx tracking on packages going to/from Sweden.

justsexxx 04-12-2005 09:54 AM

and? 8 chars

Laurie 04-12-2005 10:08 AM

Fed Ex tracking has always worked well for me. I have received packages to the US from other countries without any problems.

till how late do they deliver? tracking on the site still says delivery sate 12th of april 12pm lol.

Mango 04-12-2005 11:07 AM

Having worked at a FedEx datacenter up until three years ago, I can honestly say that these reports are quite accurate, but that depends on the location where the package has been scanned. Some locations only submit their reports to the database few times a day (mostly 3rd party companies), while the bigger HUB's get their data into the DB right away.

Raven 04-12-2005 11:10 AM

So far, FedEx has been pretty accurate for me.

pradaboy 04-13-2005 12:28 AM

new day new chances... man I hate waiting for packages.

Fedex has been so smart to blank the ETA out lol but now I have no idea when they will turn up :Oh crap

Jace 04-13-2005 12:29 AM

i read this whole thread just to see if you got your package

Rich 04-13-2005 12:40 AM

It's insanely accurate, from my experience.

Sam Granger 04-13-2005 12:48 AM

They always scan in the package they transfer at each point. They don't go directly to your house :P

They have other packages too that need swapping over at different points to go to different customers. (My friend works at FedEx in NL).

It automatically gets updated online!

haha well thanks for being so interested but no package yet :(

pradaboy 04-13-2005 02:11 AM

hmmm it arrived in Holland about 2 hours ago, the status says "Clearance international shipment"

Guess it'll take a day to clear right

pradaboy 04-14-2005 01:13 AM

ahhh finally it arrived :)

fedex.com still says there's a problem with the shipment and that it's in customs :upsidedow
