1. When you first setup your script make sure it's working setup 1 trade with someone you know and make sure it's sending hits out and counting hits in. You can do this with a hardlink coded to go through the trade script.

2. If you are using a trade script thats known then please continue using that script. If someone trys to sell you on another script at least give your script 24 hours to make sure it's working.

3. Don't expect instant results from trade scripts. Everybody has theirs set differently ... you may be counting raw hits your trade may be counting uniques. Also just because you signed up for a trade doesn't mean the webmaster on the other end is there to approve your trade yet.

4. Setting up a trade script will not give you an over night 100k tgp. This takes time.

5. micromanaging a trade script thats less than 24 hours old will do nothing but raise your blood pressure. Setup your trades and walk away from the script. Life is short enjoy it.

but i have a question. if i buy 20k feeder traffic a day on a site that is new, just how many trades should i attempt to get and what size should they be?

Ok I'm going to answer this honestly and the traffic guys are going to shoot me for it ... but here goes.


If you are buying 20k hits don't count on all those hits as being productive hits.

I would setup 20 small trades on that amount of traffic. Best you could hope for is about 25 to 50 hits a day going out to your trades and thats running a toplist from your trade script.

This all depends also on how much you are skimming, how you are trading IE: uniques, raws, or productivity, and the quality of trades you have.

Everybody has their trade scripts setup differently and their skim setup differently also. Some people trade in a cj like environment and others want most of their hits to go to galleries to build up bookmarkers.

Try to trade with people thats got the same skim set on their galleries so you won't get discouraged about the amount of in vs out hits.

also, for a site that doesnt skim much, would 10 bookmarkers a day be a realistic goal?

That depends on your traffic and what you are offering your surfers. But it seems normal to start with and I would expect it to grow over time.
