dell lappys and overheating
ive been noticing my CPu getting slower and slower within the last month or so..i initially thought it was an ICQ issue but I am sure that my fans are probably dead or malfunctioning..dell wont tell you this but heres a sure fire way to adjust your fans to have your machine running optimal most of the times http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html.
the tech guys are comming out to replace all my fans and probably my videocards fan also..normally a CPU shouldnt be running above 70f, but mines is at 183 f right now  viva warranties!

mines currently running @ 142 F
i have the same problem as you, the more time goes by the slower it runs even after a format and reinstall i cant run it more then 9 hours without it crawling

I didn't click but if it's a pentium 4 chip... you'll need some real cooling in there to get it working well.

Did some research and found out that if you take some compressed air and blow out every nook and cranny you can get into it will get rid of all the dust that its built up inside causing the fans to slow down.
