I recommend you check out the Canon 350D. I'm not sure what American name is, but it's the newer model of the 300D / Digital Rebel.

I had a play with it the other day, it's so much better than the first.

My 300D (original Digital Rebel) was stolen a week ago so I'll be looking to buy a new one shortly. I'm tossing up between the 350D (Digital Rebel XT) and the 20D. Unlike the crippled 300D vs the 10D, both of the newer models seem to have a very similar feature set; it's mainly the build (including size) and control layout that differs.

I'd really love a 1Ds Mk II (full frame, not 1.6X crop) but they're kind of expensive... both to buy, and insure. :Graucho
