back in 2001, i was on my living room floor & wrestling (playfully) with my boyfriend, just being silly. he started to tickel me and i turned my head to the left and i opened my eyes, and about 10 ft from me, i saw my dead great-grandmother just staring at me (like she was pissed off at me).

the fucked up part about that was that i saw my (living)grandparents' dog beside my dead great-grandmother, but the dog was fading in & out, wasnt as a vivid as my great grandmother.

a couple weeks later, i got a call from my grandparents telling me that the dog was diagnosed with cancer & was dying. (which would explain the fading in & out of the dog). that same week, it died.

when you experince something like that, its very hard to think that there's not an afterlife. i personally believe in one.

Ok, Ill start by saying Psychics may be real.... but what most fail to realize is that even if they are who says they are communicating with the dead? Obvioulsy nothing they say will mean anything to you unless you already know it. Dont you think possibly they may be reading your mind? They can pick up on signals your body is giving off. You were thinking about the carrot cake and peanuts at your house as well as your dead mother and the psychic picked up on that.

Just a possibility, something I thougth of while reading this. I personally don not believe in life after death, I believe we are living beings just like everything else on this planet from humans to animals to plants to atoms. and I believe that it is all a cycle of everything living off one another. My death will help create new life and so on.

For those that think they become some spirit or spiritual energy after death let me ask you. Were you a spirit before you were born too? If not, where and what were you?

The afterlife is real. You can communicate with souls that have left the earthly plane. I've done it many times.

Start opening your minds to the higher planes of existence. You will be amazed and fascinated by what your mind can do if you allow it to expand into new realms.

Im as open as one can get...im open to aliens, to ghosts, to afterlife...you name.

Just show me some evidence.

Wait, i know the answer, you cant.
Millions of people talk to dead people, see aliens, do this and that...fucking MILLIONS...and not ONE single person can show some real evidence. Not one.

Dont you see the fucking irony?

We shoot people into space, we can reproduce parts of the body, we can clone, we can take pics of galaxies billions and billions of miles away, even things we know very very little about there is scientific evidence for it (anti matter for example) yet there is no scientific evidence of anything even coming close to life after death, nothing..

And dont give me that shit that scientists ignore the subject. Any scientist would fucking love to be the first to prove there is life after death. So its not like theyre not interested in it. There is simply nothing to prove and they know it.

I feel the same way.

Don't forget that the mind is open to interpretation too. We often mistaken things in the sky that we don't recognize as things that they aren't. Our minds can see things that don't exist and play tricks on us. When we dream, our dreams seem real but they're not... do the people I see in my dreams exist just because I saw them in my dreams? Of coarse not. Our minds are faulty...open to illusions and delusions. The 'crazy' man that thinks he's covered in bugs and scratches his skin until it's bloody because he really believes that he is does so because his mind tells him it is true. But we all know there are none on him. So we call him crazy.

I would love to know if aliens exist, that dead people can be contacted, that ghosts are floating around me, that there are people that can predict the future. But as of yet nothing no concrete evidence exists. It seems like another trick that we play on ourselves to provide comfort about the unknown.

When my grandmother died I took up her ashes and just as I was placing them back down the front door of my parent's house blew open. I was alone. This has never happened to me before. I could choose to interpret that as a sign from her or not. I choose not to. It's a random occurence. It happens all the time under other circumstances and only becomes meaningful when we attach arbitrary meaning to it.

The mind should never be underestimated.

i've got NO further explanation...i just believe that there is life after death...it's just the same as believing in the AIR we breath without seeing it...

It is different. Air can be contained, measured, moved, contaminated, and tested. It's a lot like electricity which we can't see but we know exists because our uses of it. Both air and electricy follow principles that can be tested and are predictable.

Things like life after death cannot be tested. It's a belief with no scientific basis and their is nothing wrong with that. Even morality to a degree, is only a set of arbitrary beliefs.

It's like a belief in God or Evolution. They're just beliefs and it's ok to believe in those or to not to believe in either.

How did Einstein get credit for the first law of thermodynamics? ;-) Anyway, yeah the microrganisms eating your body after you die convert it into heat, gases, etc.

in chemistry it is taught that in chemical equations "all energy is conserved" meaning that you must account for the movement of energy to somewhere, it doesn't just get 'lost'...

if nothing else we become 'potential' energy (fertilizer) at the end which gets, eventually, consumed by something and a part of that life, or not...

however, I believe in the afterlife from more of a mix of jewish and buddist viewpoints...I think we get to do this until we get it right...

Here's a pointer for you o wise one.. Not everything can be proven scientifically... Do you have any idea what type of scientific proof would satisfy you? Name one!! Maybe catching a ghost and examine it in a lab!? Catch an ALien?

Since when do we need scientific proofs to prove anything... when circumstantial evidences are enough to give someone the death penality..!?

I saw a show recently where they explain the "afterlife" visions people have. It's their brain dying. As you die, and as your heart stops and the oxygen and blood flow stop, your brain suffocates and dies. What happens is you experience a dream, what's happening is your brain is beginning to black out.

Have you ever blacked out from lack of oxygen or blood flow to your brain? Ever stand up too fast and the room starts to darken from edges and you get tunnel vision, and all the while you just stare at the ground and your brain starts to 'breathe' again and suddenly you are aware of what almost happened and you feel a tad dizzy.

The same sort of thing happens when you die... or almost die. You experience a dream and your mind starts to 'flash your life.' In the dream you see people from the past, you see bright tunnels, and if you were to stay like that for too long you'd eventually die and the brain activity would cease and that's it.

What happens to near death people is that they experience this dream and are conviced they've been to 'the other side.' The fact is, they haven't been anywhere, they just experienced the death process. If they were to experience it any longer, the brain would fail to recover and they'd live in a permenant vegatative state.

So to answer your question... no, there is no afterlife. It's just something that people believe in to help them deal with death. "Oh it's ok we don't really die, we continue.. in an afterlife." Those people are sad and are just fooling themselves. Get over it, when you die... you die. Nothing more.
Same shit happens when you use Whippits . Starving the brain of oxygen and tripping for about 5-10 seconds but it feels like 10 min.
Just like REM.
Nitrous OXide I think is what you're breathing right

Usually when something "happens" millions of times a day all over the world its quite easy to prove it, yet they still failed...do you get this logic? I dont. I think its because its all bullshit...just a wild guess.

ANY scientific proof dude, any.
So your grandmother who sensed her dog would die the next day and told you after it died doesnt count.
Now if the dog was totally healty and she mentioned on videocam the day before, watched by scientists, that the dog would die the next day...that would be really nice..

But i know it already, theres no such thing. Millions of people "sensed" their dog would die, a friend died blah blah blah with once again not ONE single piece of evidence...MILLIONS of cases and not 1 piece of evidence....oh the irony.
