Dark Side of the Moon (Side 1 + Eclipse)

Speak To Me

"I've been mad for fucking years, absolutely years, been over the edge for yonks, been working me buns off for bands..."
"I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the
most of us...very hard to explain why you're mad, even if you're not mad..."

Breathe

Breathe, breathe in the air.
Don't be afraid to care.
Leave but don't leave me.
Look around and choose your own ground.
Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.
Run, rabbit run.
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to dig another one.
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave.

On The Run

[female announcer, announcing flights at airport, including 'Rome']
"Live for today, gone tomorrow, that's me, HaHaHaaaaaa!"

Time

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.
Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

Breathe (reprise)

Home, home again.
I like to be here when I can.
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire.
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

The Great Gig in the Sky

"And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime."
"If you can hear this whispering you are dying."
"I never said I was frightened of dying."

Eclipse

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

"There is no dark side of the moon really. Matter of fact it's all dark."

I'm more afraid to see the people I love die before me. I don't welcome death but I'm also not afraid of it.

Death !! Bring it on !!!! :thumbsup

But seriously, i don't wanna get to the stage where i'm to old to do shit, and i need someone to look after me. If i have a decent enough life for another 40-50 years, i'll be happy enough at that.

When i see the state of some really old folk, i always tell myself i'll never let me get to that stage...

I don't want to die, but I'm mostly afraid of dying a slow death....

I fucking hate when people do that !! Unfortunetly people do it far too often, christians come to mind :Oh crap

I was never the least bit afraid of dying til I reached a point in my life where I was very comfortable and happy.

Now admittedly I do fear death- more so the idea of not having any control over it.

:Oh crap

Yep, the thought that in 5 minutes we could have a quake and I would be gone is pretty scary!

I would rather know!

If you don't know, you've obviously not read it. Try reading the words for what they say, not as a prayer to "a god". Taken for what it says, it says a lot, about focus and what really matters in life.

This is an open-ended topic.

No one is right or wrong. No one gets it more than the other.

You have taken this thread far too seriously.

Wrong on both counts. But it's your right to be wrong.

Let's see... living life in fear of something you can do nothing about and wasting time worrying about it..... versus accepting the inevitable and getting on with enjoying yourself to the fulles.... hmm... such a hard decision.

Nope, sorry, I'd have to say that what Martin said would be the the more rewarding way to go on this.

Oh and cory, my apologies for taking your thread too seriously. In future shall I consider anything you have to say as a joke? Obviously to many who posted here this is a serious issue worthy of some discussion, so I'm not sure what your deal is.

You are joking, right?

You can't be this crazy.
