:mad morons that shoot content

Here's a tip for all you wannabe content shooters out there. Go take a couple photography courses at your local community college. Pick up some photography books at your local library. Go down to Barnes and Noble if you have to, and fucking educate yourself. Learn how to use a light meter. Learn how to light your subject.

I'm tired of underexposed images. Poor composition. Bad lighting. Overall complete shit. A chimp could shoot better content than most of these guys.

Hey, they make you look good. Some want that complete amateur look. Fpr myself, I think a little effort goes a long way. I prefer quality over absolute shit. That doesn't mean anyone should post scat pics now.

I don't know if you run a tgp at all, but if not, you should try it some time. Then you'd be here telling all the webmasters out there to try finding better quality content to submit. I'm telling you, out of 250 galleries reviewed I'd say I'm lucky if I find 20 that are worth posting.

You're absolutely right about photographic quality out there. It mostly sucks these days.

While there is a rant going on I would like to add to it.
Use a damn makeup artist who understands body makeup, do not assume that since your model is female she understands how to use makeup for photography.
Spend a few bucks, get her hair and nails done. No they do not need fake nails, just a clean and polish would be nice.
For the love of god please have them use new or extremly clean panties and socks, unless of course that goes against your niche.
Stop rapid shooting. I do not want the ability to take your photoshoot and drop it into a gif animator and get a fucking movie out of it. Moving 6 inches is not a new pose.
Enough with using trademarked items in your background or as props. Please, I know you do not mind and think it may be fair use but I do and that is whom they will contact first.
If you feel the need to airbrush/photoshop your material, please provide the raw versions while you are at it. Some of us actually do like the way skin looks.
Lastly unless it is a stripping set. Please have your model take her damn fucking bra off at least 30 minutes before you shoot. I am very sick of seeing bra marks on everything.

let me add

Stop using fucking plaid or fugly flowered bedspreads. Try white or any neutral color. Hows about lighting the background while your at it. If you can't afford more than one strobe head, please stop shooting.

Lets not even get into the striped socks that you can only get in the old country.

As for make up. A little shine is good, a little more looks like she worked at Mc D's making fries all day.

How about changing your f-stop from 22 and maybe shoot a little more wide open with a longer lens. That way we don't have to read the russian book titles in the background.

even tho you're right at some point, you're completely off base at another point. It all depends on your needs, your marketing, your target and last but not least, the PROFIT. We've this guy shooting exclusive content for us, the content is not great, and I'm sure you'll find it less than profesional. Yet we fill sites with this content (100% EXCLUSIVE, REMEMBER) at the cost of 3-4 sets from the big content shooters. And our members are not exactly complaining about it

In short, maybe you're an expert when it comes to photography, but adult business is a lot more than photo knowledge. For what it worth

As an amateur photographer (I have no formal training), I read this thread with some interest. My five plus years in the adult industry have been an ongoing learning experience.

I'm certainly better as a photographer than I was five years ago, but still have a long way to go to become the photographer that I aspire to be. I even plan to eventually take some lessons.

So anyway, I decided to take a look at your work Xenigo, since you brought this subject up with some rather critical analysis of many who take a different approach to photography than yourself.

I'm not gay, so I'm not really into your niche, but I must acknowledge that your lighting is indeed good. Clean photos too. Overall though, the photos of Dylan that you have displayed on your sparse studiocontent.com site are pretty boring and look way overproduced to me - individual photos might be fine for an ad, but as photo sets, everything looks pretty contrived and obviously shot in a studio.

I guess that's the point that some folks were trying to make, that there is a wide variety of tastes out there, and photography as an art, is inherently subjective.

In the end, if the photographer is into art for art's sake, then they need only please themselves, however if they are instead seeking commercial success, then it's up to the market to determine if they are a success or not.

I find myself sitting in the middle of that artistic versus commercial fence - I want to become a better photographer artistically, while being able to continue being a commercial success.

I spent over $70,000 last year just on hiring talent (models/performers). Fortunately, enough people buy memberships in my sites that it is profitable for me. Their support has bought me better equipment (cameras and lights), and the ability to gain experience.

Training is good, but there are many ways to acquire it, and evolve as an artist.

You're a good photographer Noah, just don't make the mistake of assuming that everyone who follows a different path than you chose to follow is a moron, otherwise you are living in a fool's paradise.

Interesting thread, bmb the pic looks great but so damn white to me..different taste u know, can you take one more from the same angle but gorgeous black gal with pink pussy?
In addition, will be D70 with sdandart kit lences(18-70) and SB800 flash enough for indoor shooting, or additional light is needed?

And people use the terms "Porn agents" and "graphic artists" as cuss words in this industry. Tisk! Tisk! Tisk! Casting (& medical un-casting sometimes) may cost a little more but wont ruin your member's boner when he sees the big "H" on her puss puss or asscne in a close up. We had a girl show up 2 weeks ago that almost hospitalized 2 other models because she was too greedy to cancell her girl/girl/girl shoot. Good thing I shoot every position & extreme close up pictures before the video, cause I fired her for her "shaving bump" that was an inch wide right before another girl almost bit down on her "razor rash" and ruined thier whole day.

agreed

when using 1 light (in studio)...a guy can get buy with only his histogram

however, when using multiple strobes & you're trying to set ratios amongst the strobes it is damn near impossible without a meter

metering is also great when shooting outdoors and you're looking for a good ratio between the ambient light & your flash

That's what Photoshop is for.

OK lets get one thing straight.

NO ONE HERE IS SELLING PICTURES OR VIDEOS

This is not an art, picture, photo or video industry. It's the porn business. We sell hard ons and orgasms, the ones our clients have.

Yes many people get off on the fact that the model is amateur, few people get of on the illusion that the photographer is an amateur and the model is the local stripper going through the motions.

That means the model has to look like she was doing it for his/her lover and fucked the photographer afterwards. Not like she was thinking about how much longer she had to spend in front of this dick head trying to work out what end of the camera he should point at the model.

Xenigo, nice pictures but poor porn.

Selling porn is easy if you know what is porn, selling pictures of naked people is an uphill struggle. Knowing the difference between the two takes skills, most of your memberships have those skills, some paysite owners have them many do not. Yes they can design a great tour, program it so it whistles and then kill it by putting in the wrong content. the actual product we sell.

Xenigo I have never had a days formal photographic training in my life, but I can out TEEN PORNO PICTURE shoot most of the people in the world. That may sound arrogant, but it's true. List 20 stills shooters with a track record better than mine.

But have no fear the product we, as an industry, sell on the Internet will get better. Because every time a surfer signs up to a good site the bad sites lose a potential client and there are more good sites popping up by the day.

On another board there is a thread about a gallery listed on a top TGP site not getting any conversions. Great listing, nice gallery and it all works. Except crappy content aimed at IMO a poor site. The B/W bill will be a nice lesson for the submitter.

There are some examples of amateur and teen content, not all shot by me.

Today if you do not deliver this level of content the guy the surfer saw before you or next will. Who do you think he will sign up to?

Thank you for saying it. Now, set a bot to say it over and over again when certain idiots spam GFY daily with their shitty content.

...maybe if some morons that BUY content from this board would stop offering 75$ for custom exclusive content, we, the morons that shoot content could afford pro make-up, and hairstylists, better setups, and better toyz...
... but i agree about the "learn to light, to expose and to white balance" part...

Do you seriously think the rubbish some supply actually converts?

The days of screwing the content producer are over, serious people are starting to realise that throwing 100,000 hits at a crap site is a waste of time. Throw it at a site that converts and retains.

The surfer is wiser today, but more importantly the affiliate is wiser. Those with experience know a good site from a bad one and are only joining sites that will get the best out of their traffic.

ADG Very Nice Stuff. Only point is put a bit of lube on the guys dick so it slides in the girl with red stockings.
