Similarly, scripts exist to automatically confirm emails!

We appreciate the comment though

WG, thanks for the concern. Fraud will always be an issue with any program, moreso when offering things like this....we feel confident though that the fraud checks we have in place will protect us well.

In any case, email confirmation doesn't protect you too much....any serious fraudster will build a robot that can create 50 email accounts per minute in yahoo, hotmail etc...and make the robot actually able to login and click the confirmation URLs. It's not that hard.

We have a fraud check based on MANY criteria, so we think it will not be an issue.

You honestly think people can't setup emails as well and have people in other countries confirm them? With automation any fool could setup a yahoo.com account in 5 seconds (even if they can't beat image verification) and rely on outsourcing the OCR. Hell I can get someone to do the image verification part for $8 per 1000 images they work out manually. Than automate a bot to go into the email/s and get the confirmation links and open them up from the same IP they where confirmed from. Anything with no paid ratio's runs this risk, the only combat is fraud detection, and I am sure iwantu is on top of their game there.

Exactly....unless you look at a cross-section of 10-15 things, they can fraud you if they really want to.

Not sure why you would pay out on unconfirmed emails, you can't profit from that so me as the webmaster aren't expecting to get paid on it. Paying us on those signups reduces the free/paid ratio and payout on the email sliding scale program since you can't possibly upsell them if they never confirm their email.

profiles are like content to a dating site.

not only are you sending people to the site who might convert to a paid join, you're also sending people to the site who are generating more content for the site.

very true and as was mentioned earlier probably 3/4 or so of those emails will be good especially if "just put garbage for your email address as you don't need to confirm it to get access" is left off the profile creation page

Yes I understand that profiles generate content, but my comment was directed at those that never confirm their email and are unable to post a profile. One of their programs will be a free email/sale sliding scale payout much like aac is doing. If they count non confirms as a free signup, that will reduce the ratio and payout, even though technically if they don't confirm they were never eligible to buy.

Actually lazycash, you have a few points wrong about us:

1 - You only get credit on this program from people who create their profile, but they do not need to confirm their email to create their profile. Creating the profile is basically like step2 of signing up...

2 - Members can pay without confirming their email address

3 - On this program, we call it pay-per-free because people don't have to confirm their email, they just have to create a profile. Once we launch pay per email on a sliding scale, they will have to confirm their email for you to get credit. However, that will be a complete different program. Pay-per-Email will be just that (as with aac for example), and pay-per-profile will be what I described in my original post in this thread - no email confirm, worlwide traffic and no ratios

Hope this clears some things up

Thanks Keith, that does clear things up. Just curious though, if members can pay and login without confirming their email address, why even bother sending out a confirm. By your post, it sounded like the sliding scale program won't be out Monday with your new launch or will it? Also, if you're going to start paying weekly, how will you transition from the current monthly, will you have a two week lag? How soon will you have the cobrand option, that sounds like a great offer.

The purpose behind the confirm actually has nothing to do with ratios or paying members. When we send out dates, alerts, etc....we only send to verified emails. This keeps us nice and clean with hotmail, yahoo, etc...

Sliding scale was scheduled for monday, but we decided to offer this pay-per-profile instead so that we can gather a few more statistics on per-email affiliates in order to offer the best scale possible for everyone involved. Anyone on the 50 cent plan though who converts decently, can arrange something with us so they will be paid out more, and make more money than pay per email programs with other companies.

The first payment done with the new weekly system will cover March 1st to March 20th, with the next weekly payment covering 21st to 27th, and then so on. There is always a lag, as we cannot pay you today for traffic sent yesterday; first, processors don't pay us that way and second, we ned time to run the fraud checks and have things like chargebacks come in. I think this is pretty standardf practice with anyone offering weekly payouts though.

As for the partner program, it's available now. We have already setup 20+ people, some who are live and others who are still working on customizing their sites. The new version out tonight will have the partners section in the site, but if you would like to get setup before, you have but to ask us

No prob man, we pride ourselves on being very open and forthcoming with people about our program. We also make a habit of listening to our affiliates.

So far, it's worked out well for us

I'll be soooo happy once this launch is done and I can relax and party again

Only about 50% of members confirm their email.
So this is traffic you are loosing with other programs, which we are paying you for it!
