sadly I agree, he feels his time is worth more then 1k. he could have gotten 3500 and been back at a solid starting point to shoot a new site and learned what he could and could not do

its not like i was stuck on 4k...

i just threw it out there... like i said before i even started negotiating with lightspeed..... i told the web camming bosses that i would accept 3500.... this all happened in a matter of 2 minutes... they said 3500 i said 4000 and then they said no right away....

Put pride aside my friend. In many situations there is no negotiating. Especially in adult, most people tell you what they want to do and that's that. Not all the back and forth bull shit. Most i've dealt with get to the point, there is no time to nit pick and haggle.

i usually side with the little guy, but i gotta tell ya... if you counter, that *is* a deal breaker... you declined his offer by raising.. i learned this the hard way too... i had a domain i valued at about $200, had some chick offering me $4500, i was like '5k' and she said 'no' and when I said 'umm ok I'll take 4.5k' she said 'no, you declined my offer, that's a deal breaker...

sucked ... i learned the hard way on this deal as it was right before XMas when i was a poor Marine and I could have used it...

We agreed on the deal as we had been friends for so long, and I introduced her to the main producers in the adult biz over here, so 50/50 was a natural agreement. We spoke about me being her agent for a while, but we decided to build the site instead as I felt awkward taking money from her that way...

I shoot all the content except the b/g, as that's the one style she doesn't feel comfortable doing with me behind the camera. We have a friend who shoots that and he does it on a content share basis or he pays her, gives us the stills for the site and we promote the film when it's released on Dvd.

As I said, Sahara is a full time model and as well as the films she's shot so far, she also appears on UK satellite tv at least once a week in a hardcore g/g show. Any money she makes from the site is a bonus to her normal work, which earns her $11000-14000 a month. The only prob I have is explaining that what she see's on the CCBill stats as gross sales isn't what we get in the end... LOL. I wish CCBill would make the last column the amount we will receive after deductions.. AC/EGS Pay had that as a feature when they were processors, as we webmasters pointed it out while it was still in beta would be a good idea :)

In the UK there are a few webmasters who work with models successfully running a solo site on a 50/50 basis... Maybe it's just a UK thing. One friend of mine looks after quite a few of them and never has a problem. In fact he's now stopped taking on more models as he works all hours of the day as it is.

If you are stupid enough to shoot a model for a single girl website without getting her to sign an exclusivity contract, you deserve to loose that money.

For starters, your not out as much money as your suggesting. The equipmnent is something you can use again and again and again with different models so you can't really include that in the loss. Your not out on money for the model because you have her content, and I can tell you this, its not the amount of content you have, its the quality of the content. I do not see where your out money.
The situation did not work out with that girl, get used to it and move on, launch the site, use her as the spokesperson, then add other content...its not hard. If you have good content use it, if you dont, toss it and start over. There is a million things you can do, dont focus on the one bit of content, this business is a bitch, like most businesses, stay in it long enough and your going to get fucked over, stabbed in the back and ripped off.

dont worry about lightspeed, dont worry about the model, dont worry about the cam place, focus on YOUR goal and get on with it, you sound like life is over, you do not have to follow other people examples of a "single girl site", do it your way and dont even look at other sites untill yours is done the way you want it to be.

yah , thinking over it... i don't think it will be so bad... because of this situation i have made a lot of new contacts... i think i'll just launch her site and offer lifetime membership or something along those lines... a lot of very nice people have offered me free content.. i'm not going to use it because i dont want something for free... but everyones been really helpfull...

I ran into a problem like this too back in november and the best thing to do at this point is just promote the site with what you have and add in some filler content. I had about 30 pic sets and 13 videos from this girl then she got this new boyfriend and just flaked on me so i just used it.

you should post a pic of this model, I am curious as to why she is so important to you. She does not seem to be a really big deal to lightspeed because he said he would not use her and for you to go for it, lets see who all this mess was over if you can do it.

If Steve has decided not to use the model make a site with that content you have, get back as much money as you can, and then put all of the content for sale on Ounique.com . They'll sell it for you to their huge database of webmasters and give you 50% of all sales forever. 4 years from now you'll still be making money on that content.

Of course, since you need money now your best bet is to sell your content to Lightspeed. Keep trying to negotiate until they say, "Absolutely not. We are not interested." At that point, see my first paragraph.

This might be a cool time to think about using an AVS system. Deluxe Pass would probably make you a decent amount of money and provide you with the content that will keep the rebills flowing. Use their hosting too and you end up with no additional costs since that seems like an important thing in your case.

Don't forget to sell it on Ounique as well. It will still sell, I guarantee it. I'm talking from experience here. I sent some stuff to Ounique more than 3 years ago and STILL receive monthly royalties on it.

i will put it on ounique for the beginning... but once it doesn't do so good... its being released for free :)

I'm hoping that Sam and Lightspeed can at least reconcile any differences that arised from this situation. It would be a shame to not be able to do further business together down the road. Been there, done that. My last roommate was a pornstar - a young one. The young sluts are the most unreliable people you will ever meet, and there is always an "ex" in the picture that makes your life a living hell.

The above mentioned girl just decided on a whim that she wants to go get an education - "makeup school". So she drops everything and moves away to do it (sacrificing her 10k-20k/month from porn). Out of all this money she of course has nothing.

I have maybe 10 vids of her and ~1000 pics. I begged and pleaded with her to not go. I specifically told her that she was not going to be able to continue her expensive life style if she left.

She called me up last night because she doesn't want to get a real job and expects a $2k a month 'allowance' until the website starts generating revenue. Her parents won't give her shit, so I should.
