I am seeing these google adds on prtetty much EVERY single mainstream website I go to these days. Anyone making $$ with them?

Well, lets put it this way. With a mainstream banner program like Fastclick you might be lucky to get 50 cents per thousand pageviews. With Adsense you can easily get $2 CPM on even a video game website. With very targetted traffic you can get anwhere from $10 CPM - $150+.
The hardest part is getting very targetted traffic. Sure you can get $200 CPM on some things but you might only get 500 pageviews a month. You aren't going to get $75 per click with Adsense simply because the Adwords advertising allows advertisers to seperate their search engine campaigns from Adsense campaigns. |

Google Adsense is a pretty smart advertising service. The ads change depending on what is located on the page where they're displayed. And they have a huge inventory of people paying for various keywords, etc.
That said, they have some tracking tools, but a lot of what you make is still up in the air. It depends on what people are paying for, and what kind of site you're running. You really have to have some traffic for it pay off in any big way.
