Dating Sites and Email Confirmations

Anyone know of a solution dating sites can employ in avoiding many mail system's SPAM/BULK MAIL Filters? It seems that once a site gets a lot of registrations, many free/public mail systems react to the number of the site's confirmation emails as spam.

Possible solutions I can think of:
1) Take out graphics in the confirmation mails. This works to an extent but many systems block text only confirm mails for vbulletin sites so I would think they'd block these as well.

2) "Load" the confirm emails with tons of gibberish/random text at the bottom and tag it as white text.

3) Reduce the total file size of the confirm mail to the bare essentials

4) Rotate headers/mail servers--of course keep it legit because these mails are confirm mails for optins NOT spam.

What solutions do you guys see?

The best solution is to get whitelisted with the big boys.

Follow all their rules, for example:

- only send mails out to people who have verified their email
- have a system in place to capture bounces and unverify them
- make sure your unsubscribe links work perfectly

etc...

Of the big guys, only Hotmail is a major pain to deal with because they are near impossible to get ahold of. Once done though, your mail shoudl be going through great

A lot of programs don't do this because they want to mail their members as often as possible and to as many as possible to get more signups, but they feel the hurt when they are marked as spammers

Yeah, definitely keep it all confirmation/dating search notification related. Good points, Varius.
