50 playboy SEOs

I think working at Playboy, Inc is like any other job. Its not a constant paradie of titties and ass rubbing up against you. |
Quote:
i have been to their offices, and you are right...while it is a little more laid back than most offices I have seen, i didn't see any titties...but you do get to see some of the girls when they come to chat about their next appearances on playboy shows... everyone at the offices was extremely cool though, and all the employees always seemed very happy |
IMHO hiring an SEO manager is a waste of money when you already have a globally established brand name that people will already be typing the domain name into their browser for.
Short of getting a few more listings, why not invest that money into building your brand further or adding new sites? Just doesnt make sense to me throwing good money away after something that realistically, isnt going to benefit you as much as your brand name already does :2 cents: Regards, Lee |

Right, you get to see the girls, but the guys posting think that they'll be dating those beautiful girls.. I'm sure that hitting on the models at work is looked upon in bad taste. Playboy probably screens super hard when they hire. |
uuuhhh, I like 'the creation of new pages so that they appear naturally higher in search engine results' the most.
there are 2 more probs here: 1. the guy playboy is looking for is already making $100,000 +/ month 2. why does playboy (I hope I will not get a c&d letter again for metioning it) want to compete with its affiliates? this is a big no-no. edit: :helpme english grammar ... |

You cant really improve a #1 listing so imho, they are just wasting money by hiring an SEO manager. If they want more SE traffic, they need to start buying it :2 cents: Regards, Lee |
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor?s Degree. A minimum of 2 years of SEO experience and 5 years of general internet experience. Must be knowledgeable about HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Must have strong comprehension of the mechanics of search engines, knowledge of website design and development, and experience with paid placement. You must also be an independent worker with very strong organizational skills. /// What does a degree do ? |
theyre obviously lauching a new site. If the seo manager gets invited to every party at the playboy mansion, it might be worthwhile
|
I think this whole thread is a fishing expedition.

lol @ A Bachelor?s Degree.

As for the content being stolen, that is obviously a big concern for us as well (although not tied to this position) and we are starting to take appropriate measures to go after some of those groups. Feel free to shoot me an email if you know of any egregious offendors off hand! :winkwink: |

There is always room for growth and more traffic. Just because we get a ton of type in traffic to our homepage, doesn't mean we are optimized for every page (or even many pages) of our site. Those specific searches are the ones that will probably convert the best too... In short, we will always have the brand name, but there is still room to improve and add to the type-in traffic... |

The need for the degree was probably put there by a human resources person who doesnt know anything about the net and secondly ts not crazy about doing away with the need for affiliates. In the corporate world where they make record profits and then lay people off. Its all about ROI . I also dont think a true SEO monster will want to work for someone else.

#6 is tours.playboy.com/tours/net/naturals.html - is it ok that playboy is using the keyword "big naturals" in title? |

Monday, I saw the Christy Hemme pictorial scanned and posted on the WWW. On this site: http://exp0sed.com/christyhemme/ It would be great if you had some interns who did nothing but surf for stolen content. |

I hate to say it but you guys have your heads so far up your asses that you will never get the shit out of your eyes.
Fire whoever you have as the head of ecommerce. That's the position you should be looking to fill. SEO is the least of your problems. |
Yes, I know that, I was making a vague joke. :)

Look at what it would cost to hire a good SE firm full time and cut that in half to see how much you should pay someone fulltime :winkwink:
|
Why don't you have a low base salary with a big bonus based on results (which are very quantifiable). That would incentivise the SEO and mean you can't lose out if they turn out to be crap. It would also meant that the SEO could leverage off Playboy's resources and maybe make more than they would self-employed.

I think they will lose access to some of the best-qualified people Someone who understands "black box analysis" (being able to calculate the formula used by a close system based on the raw data inputs and the resulting outputs) could come from a traditional school education. It not very likely because you have to cover so many different disciplines (stats, computer science, math, and engineering) |
the degree requirement is baffling, considering the best seos (and marketers in general) are all dropouts of some sort

"The Playboy name, the Spice name, and any affiliated or trademarked terms, may NOT be used in the metatags or domain name of your site or in any email address used by you. " why would any search engine expert beat playboy ranking for that trademark terms only to have their affiliate revenue pulled. If they competed against the best SEO experts equally they would not be anywhere close to the top. |

Well, I will give you credit for at least acknowledging that much. It is amazing how few get it |

I'm sure this will be a very big job for the one they hire, with a LOT of work on researching keywords and then targeting them. |

Has Playboy looked into doing microniche sites for certain popular girls, like Alley Baggett or Victoria Silverstedt?

My 2 cents on this is that its a progressive step taken by an enlightened company.
I have been saying for months now that quality paysites like playboy and etc have the best content on the web and should figure in all search engine rankings for all sort of niche terms. They all need a qualified SEO to work with them or advise them on how to utilise their content for the maximun exposure. A full time seo isn't always necessary and IMO hiring a seo as a consultant is probably more cost effective and also possibly more likely to attract a already successful SEO. A seo consultant such as myself :winkwink: charges $250 hr but only needs a limited time to point out the direction a site needs to take to attract SE traffic For examples of se traffic a paysite can get check out the keywords "tits", 'cum", "milf", "asses", huge cocks, "big cocks" "handjobs" in google. I am settling in my new country Vanuatu and will be soon available to help interested paysite owners to maximise their chance of getting a piece of the SE pie. Thanks for reading my selfless promotion :thumbsup |

The majority of the posters on alt.binaries.* are using a paid service from premium usenet services like www.easynews.com and www.giganews.com. They not only hide the poster's IP address and headers, they clear all server logs 24hours later. Instantly after it's posted, the post will be propogating to all ISP's servers on planet Earth. Playboy will have to get access to those logs before the logs are deleted. |

I don't see the RIAA and MPAA's efforts to be effective. While they did get the press and media's attention and did shut down a couple hundred (or thousand) traders, the P2P networks continue to flourish with pirated music/movies. I think if Playboy tried this, it would piss off end users more than anything. WG |
