why don't big programs buy exclusive content?

I guess they don't care about profits as much as they say they do.

Alot of them actually do buy exclusive content or at least have it shot in house. Of course I am sure there are a few that still just operate with the buy every license they can mentality and go that route.

What does buying exclusive content have to do with profits? As a content producer yourself, I already know you're bias, but...

Too many people buy into the "it must be exclusive" phenomena. There are plenty of people making bank on DVD content and other forms of non-exclusive content. There are paysites that run on feeds alone. And contrary to your statement, they ARE thinking about profit when staying non-exclusive.

If Site A makes gross monthly income of $10k and has an exclusive content production cost of $8k (weekly updated hardcore movies with pictures), they're taking away $2k profit. If Site B makes gross monthly income of $5k (half the amount of sales and rebills as Site A) and has a non-exclusive content purchasing cost of $1k (daily updates of hardcore movies with pictures), they're taking away $4k profit.

Of course, this is only one possible scenario...

Nothing to do with not ordering from me. I'm getting out of the content biz anyway. Yes, I talk extensively with other providers and am friends with quite a few of my competitors. But beyond that, I have done quite a bit of market research, contacting the largest companies who you would naturally assume buy exclusive content.

And, they do not.

So you're saying programs like TCG, Nasty Dollars, or TopBucks don't have exclusive content?

The quality of the product has nothing to do with profitability of the company.

This should be self evident but if you need examples, just look at Walmart and McDonalds.

Because "Exclusive" isn't all that it's cracked up to be. There are only so many models and many of them are recycled. So while you may have so called "Exclusive" content in your members area that same model may also in the members areas of your competition and it cost you $1,000-$3,000 dollars per scene.

The alternative is to license semi exclusive content from dvd's because the
Adult Models in the "dvd world" aren't exposed to the internet as much. Plus your only paying $25.00-$60.00 a scene.

At the end of the day I don't think shooting Exclusive Content makes more money then semi exclusive. It's just a matter of knowing where to shop

quality is important, but doesnt mean exclusive is more quality, in most cases the video quality is the same as when you buy non-exclusive

Why do so many sponsors have cookie-cutter upsells-heaven sites?

I would venture to say that 70% of huge programs shoot exclusive in house and about another 10% hire people for exclusive.

All the exclusive conten shooters will come in the thread saying exclusive is the only way to go, and the dvd content sellers will say the same thing about dvd content

ive been keeping it semi exclusive for a while and didnt notice a decrease in retention or sales. Some models are all over the internet like that "milf" with the big tits on adult.com's pizza delivery site.

Simple - they don't need it to make serious money. Sure, they might make more with exclusive content, but they have a budget & try to make the most out of as little investment as possible. This might be why they are the "bid programs"; they spend most of their money on better designs, scripts, advertising tools (FHG's, banners, etc), and traffic.
