It's so funny to see all the narrow-minded American comments here :1orglaugh |
Seems to me that it's mostly people from Europe who are pushing this:
"The U.S. and Austrian lawyers filed the lawsuit on behalf of around 60 named plaintiffs from Austria, Germany, France, Netherlands and elsewhere. Podovsovnik said they were also acting on behalf of at least 40 more not named." ANd they were notified: "Published reports emerged that upon receipt of the NOAA alert and other data, the seismological and oceanographic experts of Thailand spent more than one hour talking about what the risk may or may not have been, instead of immediately issuing a warning to their population," it said. It's not about the money; It's more like they are trying to place blame on the US saying we didn't warn anyone about a possible even three thousand miles away. I'm also willing to bet that this lawsuit is trying to set it up for a second lawsuit - where money would be involved. |
Can't believe they actually have the gall to sue after the amount of support they received...fucking ungrateful bastards
|
:1orglaugh so glad i didnt donate a dime, see those pics of those mother fuckers with bin laden tshirts? im tired of hearing about the usa donating and still being bashed.
may as well not donate, let everyone die and be hated the same. |

the US didn't do anything cuz it wasn't a "threat" or "profitable" to them, or erlse, they'd be all over it like the middle-east :winkwink: |
This is a joke, I mean people in US sue for the most stupid reasons looking to get rich but this has to be the most stupid lawsuit from the Land of Lawsuits...
|
Before people post stupid comments, they really should read the article first.

ehm people this lawsuit doesn't come from people in the hit area, but from tourists from europe and the us.... and no they didn't only sue the US they only sued all the other governements and companies that had to take care of them....

If I were the US person in charge of the meny that is being given, I would take every penny back.
FUCK THEM! |
I bet everyone who donated money will now be pissed off. What a waste.
|
thats fucking stupid.. after all we help them bastards out...
|
lol. The US should ask for their money back!! (with interest)
|
Did you guys miss the opening sentence?
"U.S. and Austrian lawyers have filed a lawsuit" It didn't say the victims are suing...lawyers 'on their behalf' are suing. A lawyer can go to anybody and say, 'hey wanna make a quick million? Here's the idea...." Obviously two lawyers, one from the US and the other from Australia trying to cash in on this tragedy. Let's hope they crash and burn. |

get real, anyone who read reports on this knows we attempted to contact them and their government withheld the info. they can sue all they want, and you can say what you want. thias is a dumb thread about something that will be forgotten in two days the only asshat around here are the ones who actually take this "lawsuit" for real |

he is a dumb fuck for choosing military over intelligence. |
This is ridiculous. I would like to hear a report about how much of the relief came from the U.S.
|
not every soldier is a hero.
in fact, most are just scared kids who either need college tuition or have no goals in life. |

I joined the army because it was something I wanted to do since I was a kid. After I was in, I was having so much fun (even though it does suck ass at times) that I re-enlisted. I got no college fund out of it and I turned down the G.I. Bill I wouldnt call myself a hero, but I did earn 14 medals in 7 years. Most of the guys that I went thru basic training with that went to the same duty station also re-enlisted. Some stayed for the same job, some retrained for new jobs. And yes some of them got out and went to school. Everyone has a different motive for joining, and you cant say any of them are right or wrong. One thing I can say for sure though, none of the guys I served with were 'scared kids' |
damn ppl are so ungrateful, especially after the money we gave them

And Sri Lanka is too fucked up - I don't think advanced notice would have really had any sort of effect - Maybe it would have stopped the trains.....but thats speculation. |
The world is going crazy. Every country has a major issue now days.
|
To those who "donated," I say "serves ya for having such a short memory."
Many have forgotten the images of these same people, dancing in the streets, the day the Towers were hit. How much did you get from THEM? |

in my opinion 18-21 is still just kids. you act like the new army commercials playing KORN and telling young adults "get your college tuition" are not real? did i say all? but dont start pretending the guys with the guns up front are the 50 yerar old retirees. we send the young ones to die. this is not new, and i have no need to defend this point or argument any longer. military threads are boring. my family, both were 18 when enlisted. kids |
f'ed up

Sheesh.. this one second retention spam can cause serious problems :-)
Have you read the article??? This thread suggests the Tsumani victims on masse are suing the US over something grievance. They are not. Quote:
Whether this is a valid case or not - who knows - they are not "suing the US". The only US element that has anything to do with with is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Now we got the GFY idiot mob cussing the shit outta all and any Tsunami victims that don't even know anything about it. Gimme a break :-) Some don't know how lucky the are. |

THANK YOU, i had just cut and was ready to paste that exact same paragraph! read the article, its "greedy people" from Austria, Germany, France, Netherlands and a lawyer from the United States who is trying to "help people". :thumbsup |

??? |
If the US KNEW about the tsunami and REFUSED to share the information, then they should have their asshole sued off them and raped with a big lawsuit.
However, ther IS NO WAY that this is the case.... for fuck's sake... using this disaster as a way to get money through a lawsuit makes you a fucking kunt. I bet there's actually only like one of two people trying to do it... the media loves to blow up shit like this... Well who gives a shit, US will just laugh at these silly pricks and tell them in a very diplomatic and polite voice to GO FUCK THEMSELVES. |

They aren't sueing for money (not yet anyhow), and it's not people who live in the area hit who are sueing. The point is this lawsuit is looking to place blame directly on the US Government for failure to warn them. First, I find it hard to believe that National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is legally responsable to warn anyone, no less governments we are not really friendly with in the frist place. Then factor in that we did in fact warn a number of countries but nothing was done because everything happened so fast. Detection, notification, and evacuation of areas that might be hit doens't happen in twenty minutes..... Not to mention Thailand or Sir Lanka didn't have any ablility to warn residents. This lawsuit is (a) being filed against a US government agencey not responsable for reporting to other foreign governments and (b) who did in fact report this to other foreign governments who failed to take any action. So what's the point of this lawsuit? |
It's all because of the Mossad.. They knew about it months in advance
|
how could you someone if you're problem was brought about by a natural disaster?
