				Huge Verotel News
In an email just now: "1. Multi-currency Starting today, you can DIRECTLY bill in any of eight supported currencies with Verotel. That means that you can charge not only in US DOLLAR, but also in EURO, BRITISH POUND, NORWEGIAN KRONER, SWEDISH KRONOR, DENMARK KRONER, SWISS FRANC and CANADIAN DOLLAR. People in these areas are used to pay more for their products and services, including subscription to content websites. If you allow European users to be billed in their local currency, you can easily make more money! " It looks like they have re-done everything there. |

There is gonna be more of this hopefully sooner than later. Euros are nice and if there any any change on the dollar - like in 2009, - it's easy to adjust :-)

				 | Seems a bit dodgy to me, they're suggesting you can charge more simply because the surfer thinks that $x in their local currency is better than $USDy which is actually cheaper after conversion. I'm still waiting for them to actually implement their last 'big' announcement - 70% commission for resellers on new signups. I try to set mine to 70% and get an error saying that I can only set it to 50% maximum. No reply from Verotel about this. Nothing unusual. Their processing is rock solid but their client service sucks. |

				 | For some reason I thought that their announcement with the big mac index example meant that their system would automatically adjust pricing to the equivalent US dollar amount (based on that day's exchange rate) and then multiply it by the big mac factor... in other words wring more $ out of non-US surfers who pay more for their big macs. When I go to setup it looks like I need to specify the exact pricing for each currency, so I guess I misunderstood? If you don't keep up with exchange rates and update your pricing to suit then you may end up making less from the non-US sales in the long run. Of course if you run a regional site that bills in EUR and you get paid in EUR then it's win win win. |

Sure, there is a gain for webmasters when using the comparative buying power on the sample "Big Mac" index instead relying on one currency - this is not new. Even MacDonalds don't charge the same prices in eg Ohio that they do in Amsterdam :-) Only my worth, but smell this concept is going to increase rapidly - for various reasons and.. I'd rather have any other currency listed by Verotel than the US dollar.
