Actaully another piece of advice ( I hope I dont run out of them!)... when it comes to this business I dont wait til "everythings perfect" before I launch a site/idea.

I get so many goddamn ideas each day that I know would make bank that I can't possible do them all.

I am sure you are the same. Its only natural in a business like this FULL of opportunity to have amazing ideas pop into your head. When your surfing, eating, takin' a dump. Write them down and launch as many as you can even if they are not perfect and see which ones bring in the bread.

And I dont want to risk 100% of my time on just one. I spread my time over all my different ideas. Some people can't work like that. I can. and I do. just my :2 cents:

I have a mainstream site that is being bookmarked by several thousand daily.

And yes, blogs work very well but you need a few ingredients to have google rank you well.

i only use hardlinks.

I am sure these are fairly simple concepts for experienced bloggers but I dont think I am 100% clear on them. and I am sure many other people reading this thread arent either.

2, What is an RSS feed and how do you use it on your site?

If anyone can post a clear concise answer, or links to answers, to 1 or both of those questions then please do.

I could go to google but by having someone post the answers the value of this thread increases - See how PornHero thinks? always think about increasing value/synergies in your assets wherever you can. This thread is an asset to me right now. In the time it took me to make this post I could have went to google and found the answer. but i didn't. I prefer to create value in my thread - and I am still going to get the answer - I hope. its little differences in thinking like that which make the difference in the $$$ you make. ok that's enough. :)

The concept being that search engines like blogs not only for their text, but for their activity.

So, by my making a trackback to Mate-Find, I have not only given her a recip link, but given activity to her and me.

RSS feed: RSS is Really Simple Syndication.

If a surfer has an RSS reader installed on his pc, and he likes your blog, he can add the feed to his reader so he can read your blog from his pc without having to actually come to your site.

I have taken it to the next level by installing the RSS Equalizer which allows me to provide headlines from other blogs to mine (changes with every page refresh) thus increasing the text and activity on my blog.

How does traceback work and why should i use it?

It's called trackback and I'm to much of an idiot to answer you.

Based on my limited understanding...

It works sort of like recip links - but it's better because it is more content related/specific.
Let's say I have a blog, and you have a blog. You like one of my posts and it relates to your blog's content/theme, so you decide to cite all/part of the post in your blog (you also include a link to my blog).
In return for the traffic and publicity that I receive from your blog, I will send traffic back to you by adding a summary or simply the first portion of your post which relates to/includes my original post - and I will also link back to your blog.

It's just a traffic swap, but a much better one than simple recip links.

I think just about any content would be good for a blog. There are millions of people in this world and their interests vary. As long as your blog caters to a certain niche and satisfies them, in this case people that like to read or write stories like this one HERE. (that's a true story!)

But keep in mind the business angle. We are businesspeople. We need sponsors.

You need to have sponsors. Make sure you have good number of sponsors with good sites and related products you can offer on whatever you choose. I am not familiar with the sponsors in the sex stories niche :helpme

looks like you are on the right track with your blog. Make sure to think up a good niche that you like and wont tire writing about. You'll be writing about it alot over time and if you arent that interested in your niche and just choose that niche cuz you think it will "sell/convert" better, then you wont deliver the way you should over time. love the topic your blog is about. Your visitors will feel your love ;-)

And the questions you asked me about how to best feed The Google Gorilla? This is how I see it:

The Mechanics of Trackbacks:
How do you institute trackbacks into your blog? I mean is it a cut and paste thing, inserting something into a database - is it a manual process or automated? Do you surf around looking for other blogs with interesting entries that you can trackback to or do you setup to get entries from specific blogs? I see something that says URI.. what is a URI??

Maybe it'd be easier to post a link. If anyone has a link that explains the mechanics of trackbacks then please post it :)
