Your thoughts on the Google sandbox

Newly registered domain. How long will it be in the sandbox? Minimum? Maximum?

According to our Senior SEO guy, newly registered domains will have to wait for 7-8 months before they can get into the top positions. Google Engineers are really controlling it. As for MSN, 2-3 months will do.

So, what if I have a lot of out links? Like maybe 50?

What does he consider a "top position?" And when did MSN get a sandbox?

Not even close to being true, sorry. I'm not sure where he's getting his info from but I've personally had sites out of the "box" within weeks up to a couple of months.

I know there is a lot of debate about the box, whether it even exists or not, but nobody is a complete authority on how long a site will be in it - regardless of what they claim.
