maybe put a short explanation on top of your 404, like "moving servers, sorry for the inconvenience" or something, then proceed with your sponsors, but the whole fpa in place is kinda too much...

Maybe pornsuite fucked up everything, but at least he's on the board facing the impact of it. I don't know what's going on with the 404 issue, but the most advisable thing for a host in this situation is to have blank page with a back button. Webmasters are not animals and they understand that problems may occur. Sending pages to your ad is at least stupid and it won't benefit you not only on the long run, but on the short one.

when one of the biggest moviehosts, need4xxx.net closed one of their free hosting sites with some million impressions/day they put a page stating that and they didnt redirect any traffic. NOBODY blacklisted them and their hosting service is still accepted almost everywhere. You don't need to be a webmaster to know that, only the common sense is enough.
