I believe it's short for Kilometer. Why does the US Millitary use the Metric system, and the rest of the country not? Kinda foolish, metric just makes sense.

I hear it used occasionally here in Canada by civilians. My dad uses it a lot. Like others said, it's a kilometer.

Yeah, I heard people in Vancouver and Victoria say it all the time... not quite so prevalent out east here, which is odd considering the big naval base in town. Perhaps they prefer to think in knots (nautical miles).

Klick..yes it used in Canada ..also it is approx. .6 of a mile and not .8
