I think I am gonna go to the doctor today

I have noticed pains in my right wrist...Like when I am typing and stuff...

Not sure if its something serious or if its from the years of hardcore typing and shit...

I am hoping its nothing serious

It doesn't do it with my left wrist but god forbid something is wrong with my fucken right hand...Jerking off is just not the same with lefty...

Good luck.

repetative use syndrome. Step away from the computer for a day and it will heal up.

Sounds like Carpal Tunnel. I have the same problem, but in both hands / wrists. A word of advice, surgery does jack shit for it, other than relieve the pain for a while, then it comes back, and you have to go back to the Doc.

Go to Sharper Image and buy yourself 2 magnetic bracelets. Wear these 24/7! Also, buy 2 wrist splints at Rite Aid, wear these when it's really bad, and sometimes when you sleep.

Try and change your sleeping position. I found that when I sleep on my side, I dig my fist into the mattress, and when I wake up, my hands hurt (This is related to a high amount of caffeine intake.). Turn your pillow verticle, and lay your hands flat against the mattress, and sleep on them, to keep them flat.

Try to reduce your caffeine intake. If you drink alot of Mt. Dew. Try and switch to coffee. This helped me ALOT.

You need to be very careful about "bending" your wrists. Try and keep them straightened out at all times. The more you bend your wrist, the longer the healing process will take.

Carpal tunnel is caused by certain canals in your wrist becoming weak and collapsing, restricting blood-flow to the hands. Maintaining straight wrists helps to build up the canal again, to allow for better circulation.

I have a few other tips if these don't work. Just wanted to give you a few tips that I do, that have all helped in my own circumstances.

The reason I mention getting 2 bracelets and 2 splints, is that if you have it in 1 hand / wrist, most likely the other will follow shortly behind. Best to treat both at the same time, to avoid any further damage.

LOL... That wasn't directed at you in a humerous way, but I can see where you might get some flack for that. LOL... Sorry, but these methods really help. I have to do all of these things or my hands cease to function properly, and I can't type at all, during those times. I've held these practices for about 7 months now, and haven't had any pain for about 6 months of that time.

I reccomend those wrist splints highly. They look retarted, but they work.

I have a pair for whenever I have to write program that involves hours of straight typing.

You should find something like this. They make them in "Right Hand" and "Left Hand" models. Buy one of each.

You should try and find something like these magnetic bracelets.

There is NO scientific proof that magnetic bracelts work.

In one study performed at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston showed that in 19 subjects, 9 of which wore a magnetic device, and 9 which didn't... 60% reported improvement in their trouble areas.

60% improvement, and only 50% wore the damn thing.

"There is no scientific basis to conclude that small, static magnets can relieve pain or influence the course of any disease. In fact, many of today's products produce no significant magnetic field at or beneath the skin's surface."
http://www.quackwatch.org/04Consumer...QA/magnet.html

"However, magnet therapy, laser acupuncture and chiropractic care haven't provided the same benefits in controlled trials."
http://www.mayoclinic.com/invoke.cfm...C0&dsection=11

Don't buy into magentic therapy bullshit man, Don't waste your time or money on unproven trinkets or voodoo bullshit. Go see a REAL doctor and get REAL treatment.

one more for you...
http://web.archive.org/web/200108060...ey/magnet.html
"No deepening evidence. In spite of hundreds of years of experience and investigation, the "state of the art" in magnetic therapy appears to have increased little since the days of Franz Mesmer. (mid-18th century)"

This sounds weird but has worked for me and other people. Eat raw vegtables and fruit for 2 days. it has something to do with reducing the water in the joints but in just 2 days it goes away.

I have the same for years now.. here in holland it is called RSI (repetive strain injury)
A few years ago it was so bad my arm was swolen! i have it in my wrists, arms and neck.. really painfull at times..
The doctor says it will never heal, but when you take many brakes during working hours it really helps bare the pain.

RSI really fucks up my abbility to work for long hours now.. and in this bizz you can't help work 24/7 sometimes...

Be sure to take enough rest and do other stuff than the usual mousing :-)
