SEO guys, I have a question - trolls need not read

Up until about 5 hours ago I was #1 and #2 for a shitload of keywords. Then my host shut my sites down. I think it was a code 509 or 409 or some bullshit. Seems I went over my bandwidth. I didn't know this for 5 hours. I go into CPANEL and low and behold I still have 4 times my paid for bandwidth left and the month is almost over! In short, my host fucked up!

I went into the logs and found that both google and yahoo sent bots in 2 times during the outage. About 12 hours go by and I am starting to think everything is ok. Then my traffic drops to almost zero. My traffic is 90% SE traffic (obviously).

I check the domain in google and google doesn't have the usual:
Link to the site,
back links,
sites that mention you...

Just a link for sites that mention you. Now... I just had a thought and looked at something... It seems that a few of the sites in my network don't have PR... is it possible Google has blacklisted the sites?

Update, yahoo is still sending hits. Google is not. And google doesn't have any of the sites in the network of sites that link to eachother. Half of them were NOT on the server that had the problem, they were on a dedicated server with another hosting company.

All of the sites in question were boosted with either referrer or blog spamming. I think google must have banned them for that.

I only had the keywords and traffic for about 1 month now. I am in the process of moving it to another box. Now... I think I will just start new with a different URL... only this time, I won't spam so damn much.

It's reasonable if he gets ~100 clicks/day

Do you?

its a bit stupid to say the least..tho if he had like a 10mbps line he shouldn't have much problems..it seems he has one of those 1500GB deals or something like that

Perhaps it was the sites linking together doing it. The reason I say that is that I had a set of 5 sites interlinked that all tanked at once. They were each very individual sites with their own topics and content, no spam, just linked to one another. That's how I got new sites into the search. Apparently Google would rather have a a spam page that jacked my text in their results than my actual page with content. My pages are all still OK in Yahoo and have been for the couple months since they fell to the back pages in Google.

Charles aka WiredGuy is on holiday, I just called him regarding your question and he told me to tell you:

"there's no money in SEO"

and I concur.

My virtual account had a 100gig limit. I was 'testing the waters' so to speak before I did something on a dedicated and got the IP banned with google. Based on the sites that got tanked I am certain google didn't like the blog/referrer spamming because all of those sites that were spammed together on pages are now dead. Google did not sandbox me or put me 100 pages back, google completely erased my sites from its database. No cache, no entry, no nothing.... Gone.

As for hits, like I said, I was #1 and #2 in my keywords. I got about 2000 hits per day from Google and converted about 1:200. In a 2 week period I made a few grand. So, yeah, there is DEFINATELY NO MONEY IN SEO...

Well, lesson learned.. either buy cheap hosting and run through domains at the speed of light or grow their back links a hell of a lot slower... and don't link them to each other..

The thing I don't understand is that some sites are still in google that were on the same referrer or blog pages as I was. And they all link to eachother too....

DO NOT USE THEM, THEY SUCK ASS!

I would never have hosted here but I left it up to my partner to handle securing us the hosting. He went to some cheaphostingsearch bullshit site and found it.. he should have just come here and specified what he wanted and what price he was going to pay and then got it from a GFY'er...

I you search http://www.yoursite.com and it isnt listed , your blacklisted , if your not blacklisted it might just be a temp error.

Not sure why your host shut your sites down though, if the se's spider your site while its down it should affect your ranking for awhile. I have had sites down for a week , switched to a different host/ip and never lost ranking on google

Yeah... I think I defiantely got blacklisted... I scripted massive shit for spaming blogs comments, trackbacks and referrer lists. When I say massive I mean in the 5,000 range of urls.... I am sure that google decided... enough is enough.. you are done. Sux.. 2 years ago it would have been business as usual...

I think you're talking bullshit
which keyword was it that you recieve 2k from a day? I was #1 for a shitload of keywords on google and know how much traffic you get from those spots
even when I was #1 for blowjobs the max I recieved were 600 uniques a day...
I assume you were not #2 for porn or sex
just curious :D

The keywords were site names for 100 different websites. I won't tell you which ones because I plan on doing it again at a smaller scale. I didn't get 2000 hits on a single word or site, I got 200 on average for each site I targeted. The top site got over 500 hits and others got as little as 10. It isn't rocket science. You put a paysite on the keyword blowjob... you should expect a HIGH ratio since most people are not looking for YOUR site. My surfers were looking FOR my site specifically. Some sites/words had ratios of 1:50 and others had 1:500...

I have no reason to bullshit... I don't like drama... and I will give you an example... you get the top spot for www.pornsite.com and www.pornsite.com is a real porn site you are an affiliate for. You get the top listing when someone types in pornsite, porn site, pornsite.com, www.pornsite.com, pornsite videos, pornsite pics, pornsite girlsname, etc... And everyone going there wants www.pornsite.com specifically... now go and use overture to find out how many times someone types in the pornsites name specifically into the search box in a month.. 1000 times, 10,000 times, 100,000 times, 250,000 times.. you get the picture.
