My microwave died this morning!

While heating up a potato this morning my microwave started to buzz really loud and spark underneath and behind. I decided I didn't need my house burning down so I chucked it. Now the mission of buying a new microwave!

I'll probably head over to Target later today to pick up a new one but have no idea what's good and what isn't, I've never bought a microwave before! Any suggestions? Definitely needs one of those rotating plates, cooks the food better. I've been checking them out online and I see prices ranging from $50 to $200.

Just get the one with the most power for the cheapest price. These days they're so cheap if you need to buy one every couple of years, you're fine.

Oddly mine's almost 10 years old, gets used several times a day and the sucker just keeps running. I want a new one but I can't rationalize it until this one dies on me. It's a Panasonic if that helps you find one that will last forever

wrap it in foil next time, that will save your microwave from breaking.

I'm surprised that has only been mentioned once.

Get a GE Advantium.. They cook with hydrogen lights and actually make crisp food in the same amount of time. ;)

Check out the Delonghi AR690 Retro Convection Oven, or a combination microwave/convection oven.

http://www.thebuzzelectronics.com/it...=AR690&cid=206

There are so many microwaves in the stores that you become dizzy trying to decide which one to buy. Size, color, price, countertop or place above the stove. Plain microwave or a combination of mic/convection.

Have fun.
