In Win2k I noticed a huge difference when I upgraded from 128 to 256 and then to 512. Now I have a gig of RAM and I feel like a queen
![]() It'd definitely be wortht he money. Get it at www.crucial.com too, they have quality RAM for (relatively) cheap. |

Probably won't make much difference unless you are in the habit of running huge programs that use alot of overhead.

I think that it makes some difference. I recently popped in an extra 256-megs in my system and I don't know if it was in my head or not, but it seemed to be better. I play games and have some big programs though, so that could be why.
Hell, I got 256-megs from Crucial.com with shipping for only $28. How can you beat that ? For that much, it's worth the addition. |

anything past 512 is just a waste the more you put it the more windows will use it and you won't notice a difference |

I'd like to add that's if you're using a 9.x operating system (win98, win 95, ect)
since each application requires 4 gigs virtual memory, when it finds RAM it'll just suck it up to make up for the four gigs. However, if you're using a true 32-bit operating system like win 2000 you'll notice improvments in performance even if you go above 512mb of RAM. |
