				Computer fuckin up...any techies here?

About 3 days about, my computer randomly went to a black screen in the middle of working. It then started rebooting on its own. Since then, it has happened about 3 times a day, for the past 3 days. When it gets back going, everything seems fine, but a message comes on telling me that the computer has recovered from a serious error. Anyone heard of a phenomenon like this? The machine is only about a year and a half old, maybe even a little less. And its a powerhouse. I have heard that sometimes if things get too hot in there the computer will shut itself down without warning in order to keep the board from burning up. Could this be it.

Is it running too hot? Computers do all sorts of crazy things when they are too warm. Check for dust too.

Sounds like it's running too hot, or you've already got something that's burned out. Open 'er up and get all the dust out, then turn it on and check the internal fans to make sure they are all spinning.

Might want to try running it without the cover on the case for a day or two and see if that cures the problem. If it goes away with the cover off, you know you need to get another cooling fan in there. |
