re Granny Gallery:
Good job on separating the gallery from the freehost's banners. This is in line with my earlier review of Phogirl's sexy smoker gallery.

However, I would cut up the middle block of pictures with text or graphics w/text because the way you set up the gallery, the user gets a freebie. The user only needs to zero in on the content, view the pics and leave. We want to keep hitting the user while he's navigating the gallery so you can get your marketing message across. I would put your cool text "Mature Ladies Know how to FUCK" in the center. Nice text, very descriptive. But you may want to make it more punchy by editing it down and focusing on 1) sex acts [you did this already] 2) features of the site tied to the sex acts 3) clear call to action: include the price --this will filter your traffic. I would suggest using a cell with differing colors.
Bake's suggestion earlier makes sense--use the color scheme of your sponsor's tour site.

Re your GAUGE gallery: Good choice of teen model. Overall the gallery is good but I would expand the bio area to include a head shot of Gauge giving oral sex or being fucked--make this a nonclickable graphic and small enough to tease but large enough to be seen clearly. Lose the standard all petite banner since the girl is NOT gauge--have a CLICK HERE FOR MORE OF GAUGE text link or something like that. As usual, sell the user on the site -- ie., full video collection of gauge sucking cock, gauge anal movies, etc.

PS another trick: if your TGPs let you, put the buttons at the bottom of the gallery [many TGPs require you to place the recips in the top 50% of the page if not higher]

Nice pictures, dude. However, you may want to ease up on the spacing between the thumbs. There was a Nilson study done about 3 years or so ago that showed that users have a "zeroing" strategy when it comes to banner ads. ie., for the users on 56k, they focus on a picture or mouse cursor to relieve the boredom and don't click the banner. This is a strange phenomenon that may explain the ever decreasing CTR of banners in general. I would suggest closing the thumbs, breaking it up with text and personalizing the gallery per my earlier critiques of galleries [see earlier posts]

One related note: TGP gallery makers really gain a lot of advantage if they BUY their content instead of "borrowing" it from other galleries [I'm not saying this applies to you, I'm just making a general point]. The reason for this is, in addition to legal protection, you can mix and match "teaser" pics [girl looking straight at the camera] with more revealing shots. Getting the whole collection allows the gallery maker wider latitude in a) planning out the composition of the page b) planning out the text.

If you gallery posters have noticed an increase in PHONE SEX numbers appearing on pages this year... it's not a coincidence!

Most likely all those ads are from clients of mine... I can say that one way to sneak more revenue out of your TGP pages is to add niche phone sex lines if you're targeting a particular market. I was shocked, originally I thought it was impossible but some of these checks I cut every month for these promoters are getting quite large.

Well, I couldn't help myself :-) I talk to webmasters all the time on the phone. What I'm hearing, ever increasingly over the last few months, is that everyone is having to work a bit harder to increase their revenue. I wasn't sure if my comment would fit in here, however I know that what I do is a bit different and most people haven't considered it.

Besides, cool thing about a PS number on a gallery submission is that you don't need an outgoing link, so it's possible you can slip it in with everything else you're doing and the TGP owner might not mind because it's not senseless promotion or another outgoing 'link' to an affiliate program :-)

I don't know, I was an adult webmaster before I got into the PS biz and my very first promotion was on pages submitted to the Hun so I have an affinity to TGP postings, that's what got me started!!

Okay, I'm back and ready to do more reviews. Before I start, here's some general tricks/tips/rules I've learned doing the gallery game.

1) It all starts with content -- There's a correlation, not an absolute one but very strong, between user interest/click through and the content. New, fresh content gets surfers' attention especially if they are very familiar with TGPs and have surfed the same stale pics over and over. This is the reason I suggest that webmasters buy their content; it has a stronger impact on the surfer. Many successful webmasters I observe make it a point to spend the extra cash on the freshest content they can find. To protect yourself from being ripped off, do the following: 1) watermark your images "example: licensed to YOURDOMAIN.com" 2) use an .htaccess file on all your image folders. Of course, this won't cut off all scumbags but it will at least make them work a little harder.

2) Think before you build -- sounds simple enough but sometimes we're in such a rush to make that cash that we think we just "rely on instinct" when building galleries. Actually, an hour of thought translates to a large amount of cash NOT wasted. Look carefully at the content you just bought. What categories could it apply to? [example: cute 19 year old with blonde hair stripping off panties can be submitted, at differing intervals w/differing pic combos, to teen, blonde, and panties categories] Is there a "narrative" to this series? Can I build a story with the series--mix and match revealing shots with teasing/off shots?
What colors would work best as a background for this series? Does it match my sponsor's background? [Bake's insight] What kind of additional graphics would HIGHLIGHT these pictures?
Once you've asked these questions, write out the answers, and prioritize them.

3) Tell a story. What story does the series convey? Write it out, stream of consciousness style [a little James Joyce action there] quickly for a minute. Read it, does it get your attention? Condense your writing to maybe 4 sentences--short, choppy, and graphic. Don't use long words or sophisticated words with many meanings, you're not writing a seductive love letter but selling to a person who is one click away from leaving your gallery. Once you have the sentences written out, modify the weakest one.

4) Know the site you're selling. Try visiting the site you want to send your surfer to. Get a clear idea of their promo--how do they sell their site? Do they say "exclusive content"? What, based on their tour text, makes their site special?
Incorporate this into your text. Revise again, and again, and again.

5) Experimentation. Make differing versions of your gallery, ask a friend [preferably one that meets the demographic you're targeting] if HE [usually] a) finds the pictures appealing b) thinks the layout forces him to focus on the pics and messaging c) messaging works for him. Try out differing permutations and submit differing versions to differing TGPs. Analyze your traffic, which layout/color combo/picture set/theme got the most? Figure out why and replicate to the rest of your galleries and sites.

6) Evolution is your friend. Evolutionary theory is fairly simple--take a population, introduce an element, a lot of the population dies, the remainder are resistant/can cope with the element. Same principle should work on your galleries. Experiment with differing styles. Find the most successful ones, modify them a bit, weed out the weak ones, keep modifying until you come up with a page/theme/picture combo/graphic story combo that converts at the level you would be comfortable with. It is not simple, it takes a lot of work, and it is your "special sauce"--the trade secret everyone wants but only works for YOU because YOU understand it [through hard work].

7) Stay Positive. It is easy to get burned out if you have really crappy conversions or feel that the amount of time/effort you put into your business is not worth the scant reward. One of the key to overcoming failure is to have a system, the evolutionary system above is probably the best since it creates solutions YOU create and experience. Your personal "secret sauce" in marketing is gained through hard work so you won't lose it easily. Also, if someone GIVES you something, its easy to lose it since you did not work for it or know it inside and out so as to make an easy replacement.

Hi Scarab,

Nice pics. This girl should get some attention. Most of the time, creating a moneymaking gallery starts with selecting the right pictures. With that said, you may want to improve on the following:
Text -- tell the user more about this girl OR tell the user WHY they should click on your sponsor link. Your current text is very spartan. Tell them what things Viviana does, get them horny, then tell them that there is more of Viviana at your sponsor's site PLUS you get other extras. Itemize these extras. To filter the free loader traffic put the PRICE, yes, Put the Price on the gallery. Some of you old schoolers may say that this cuts down on the click throughs-EXACTLY. Lower amount of click throughs but usually higher converting.
Make sure you study your sponsor's site carefully so you can describe their features on your page. The text "over 500 amateurs" is not enough--describe the girls, provide a gif of headshots, etc.

Tip: Unlike other marketing devices, the gallery is an extension of the sponsor--make it a smooth, seamless experience. In a way, act like a "sample" of your sponsor.

Also, with very attractive girls, make a "bio" or add a small video clip [if available] of the girl [preferably in action].

First of all, good choice of sponsor and pics, lightspeed converts nicely [for me at least, especially their Tawnee Stone material]. LS has great content--the spin the bottle cheerleaders pictures is very viral [people pass it on to friends].

My advise is that your text area should be larger to accomodate more descriptive text of ls sorority. Also put a collage of pics from ls' free content offerings so you can graphically and textually offer a wide range of "hooks" your user can bite on. List out the features your sponsor has and tie that in to your text box. Currently, its too small and too easy to just enjoy the pics without getting stuck on a text or graphic "hook".

Great pics from a great sponsor. Hmmm, the only thing I can see getting in the way of good conversion is that while you are telling a story, it is not unified, it is broken up, the girl is not featured enough, and, also there are some text structure issues [you have missing connecting words]. My suggestion for a fix, pick pictures showing the girls face looking at the camera smiling, center the story into a box in the middle of the pics, put a headshot of the girl and guy and kissing. You can do this centered or to the left or right corners.

Unify your narrative and focus on the value add of the girl. The way the page is set up is that the story is focused on the guy with little connection to the user. Maybe you should retell the story with the guy as the user and end with a call to action of "visit [sponsor name] and make YOUR [bold] teen cheerleader sex dreams CUM TRUE. Or something to that effect.

Definitely better than before re text placement. Some suggestions-- tell us more about Brenda [short 5 word description, how old she is, etc] Put a head shot of her on the upper left side [pic of her smiling right at the camera or a little bit to the side]
In your description of your sponsor's site, you use about 5 lines, describe the line itmes more graphically. Cumshot videos, blowjobs, etc. It's less important to tell the name of the site as it is to show what's in it. If there's a free trial, put it on the center text area.

As for the colors, experiment with differing "pastel" like "soft" colors. I like your current layout and color scheme but let's see if you can evolve the most optimized color layout for yourself that converts well--using the index1..2...3 labelling system, why not put a color label index1a ... index2a...etc to track which color combo converts best for you. Another way to track is to insert code in your sponsor code tied to the color layout, some sponsors' code allow you to do this.
