hotlinking

when someone includes images from your site on his website using the img src= tag is there anyway to redirect visitors to your 404 page?
The only way I know is to block access ti .htaccess and they get a broken image.
But I would like to profit from this

yeah you can do that
but when someone has included your images on his site the surfer will not be redirected to your error document but will see a broken image.
I'm looking for a way to redirect him to my error document

How about replacing the hotlinked image with one which simply has text saying, "The webmaster of this site is a bandwidth thief who was hotlinking the photos that used to have this filename."? Or better, simply, one saying, "I support the Taliban in their efforts to kill Americans." Then, it will look like the hotlinker is anti-American and no doubt someone will fuck up his site pretty badly.
