Wow that's really bad dude. I had a friend who came off his bike when he was totally drunk, needed airlifting in a helicopter back to the hospital. He destroyed his ankle (foot was almost off) and lost most of his backside because of grazing along the ground. He had no leathers or anything on, just a helmet, which at least saved his life.

BLoody horrible, bike accidents.

Yeah i think it takes a bad crash before you say fuck it i nearly died.

When you are in hospital pissing in a bottle cause you cant walk makes you stay away from bikes.

you be careful when you are out on your bike mate

My distant cousin died a few months ago on his R1.
Similar situation like yours, a lady was making a U-TURN without looking.

I'm glad you got off okay, I hope you sue the bitch and take her off the road permanently.

I'm sorry to here that.

The police only did her for careless driving in my case, so i bet she is out and about on the roads already. Which is a scary thought.

I hope you're not implying that women drivers are to blame for your problems. Because, IMO, that would be bordering on libel. You should choose your words very, very carefully.

ps- I'm glad you're better.

Oh, I've read them. And in my opinion, this whole thread is teetering on the brink of libel. I'm just saying be careful about what you post, that's all.

I grew up riding trikes, dirtbikes, and mopeds. My first accident was on a scooter when I was 15. I was doing about 35 around a curve when a car came around and I had to ditch the bike to avoid them. I wasn't hurt, but my helmet was cracked in half. I learned a good lesson that day and have worn a helmet ever since.

It's not women drivers. I think in the past ten years that our driving habits have gone to shit. We take it for granted. I'm seriously in love with my car - and my bike - and a scratch on either one would be the death of me. I'm so damn carefull that it's funny.

You neglected to say how fast both you and she were going or how much of a space cushion you were maintaining for any and all traffic around you. Or, were you off in mental never-never land and not paying attention. Them fucking rice rockets will surely kill you. Tell me to get off my Harley? FUCK YOU!

I'm sure there's more to the story than what's posted. Those "lite" bikes don't stop very quickly, do they? Oh, the wheels stop spinning but there's not enough vehicle weight to give GRAB to the tires. Oh, and, if you remember, did you hit the front or rear brake FIRST? You didn't say. And, finally, how'd you allow yourself to get into a non-escape situation?

You ricers amaze me. Luckily, you're usually riding the opposite direction.

I snapped my left femur in half when I was 19. Had to have a femural rod inserted for 2 years, and then removed. I was lucky. I can still walk and run, and fuck.

i used to ride motorcycles and i still have a lot of friends who do. i always say it's not a matter of "if" it's a matter of "when". i quit riding after my big accident involving a city bus.
