.in blah

Johny Traffic 02-18-2005 08:49 AM

I think .in is a great extension, has some great implications. If you get a good word to go before the .in then it could be great like living.in staying.in anything where you are using the "in" as a word

Johny Traffic 02-18-2005 08:52 AM

I just bought dogg.in wont meen much to you yanks, but dogging is often called doggin over here, so great for adverts in papers etc

samsam 02-18-2005 09:46 AM

Dombuyer,

are the .co.in domains worth anything? or just .in ?

Roald 02-18-2005 09:50 AM

what if you have a hyphen in it. like fuck-you.in is that worth anything or forget hyphens completely?

Nicely said, AVM. No need for all of us to be one-trick ponies. :winkwink:

I guess it depends...I searched for some huge company names and sometimes only the .co.in was taken and the .in was still available....

gxer 02-18-2005 12:42 PM

i bought HairyPussy.in but i doubt about massive type-ins in the near future, it will take a time i think.

LeWeekend 02-18-2005 02:51 PM

I got a few nice .IN from the pre-register :) All generic names with 100 000 overture results or more, and PPC over 3 USD in average ;)

ccTLD's is the future, countries that have more then english as official languages, will have their national top level domain as the most important one. I also notice that in some contries the national identity is very important, and I guess .IN will be one of those. Anyway, india is retarded and will continue to be so for another 3-5 years, atleast.

Wish I got some really cool names :(

I'm currently considering to trade a generic indian top-name for a swedish ccTLD. let's see what happens.

Although google filter away the "in", you can build cool stuff with a .IN domain, like luxuryhotels.in/usa or takeaway.in/newyork

Hmm, why don't you get mine "railway" domains instead - I'll let em go cheap since I got no use for them. .COM is still much more recognized for indians and they do get a few type-ins..

METRO/RAIL:
NewDelhiMetro.com
DelhiRail.com
DelhiRailway.com
DelhiTrain.com
MumbaiRail.com
MumbaiRailway.com

polish_aristocrat 02-18-2005 05:43 PM

A good thing to do mate.. if you got development plans.

Drake 02-19-2005 01:04 AM

I wish I understood the domain game. I see no value in a .IN domain except to mirror it on search engines to existing successful dot coms. I know I'm missing something here. Oh well. Another money train I won't be getting on. :Oh crap

There is a few ways of looking at it, the first is the names with that extension are actually quite good looking so fuck.in is a good name on its own. Also there is well over 400 million indians starting to jump on the net and millions of indiands world wide also looking for stuff from there home land. So the obvious words like cinema.in films.in etc etc will be well worth having to either develop or sell later at a wacking great mark up :)
