A TGP2 Update
Back on Oct 29, I wrote a piece titled:
"The TGP2 Phenomena. A Statistical Fugue in B Major." You can read it here: http://buildinganempire.com/fugue.html I wrote: "Click through rates on TGP2s themselves are 5x what they are on a TGP1 with the same ad in the same spot. Signup ratios for this ad were twice as high on the TGP2 as on the TGP1." Now I've been wondering what would happen as TGP2 traffic ramped up, would it maintain these ratios or slip as traffic increased? Sign up ratios for Nov were just the same as they were in Oct. I reach for the calculator this morning and for the CTR ratios between TGP2s and TGP1s, same links, same spots, is 4.7, very nearly the same as the 5.0 reported a month ago and statistically not relevant. Links to sponsors on TGP2s outpull those on TGP1s by a factor of 5 and signup ratios are still 2x what they are on TGP1. Now, I still maintain my TGP1s, though I have neglected them. One of my TGP2s, "Z Thumbs" has fallen to only 70k/day with neglect. I still keep hoping to make those TGP1s sing and make some money. I have not quit BUT TP2 is producing more cash at the moment and that appears to be the better place to put my efforts. Total TGP2 traffic is getting difficult to measure as there are more and more every day and some of the larger ones don't use counters. I would say it is easily over 350k/day now. This is a very ballpark estimate. There have been a lot of TGP1 webmasters introducing 10-20k TGP2s in the past few weeks. I hope we all find ways to make more money from the TGP concept (TGP1 and TGP2). Though it is somewhat inherently a flawed model (give give give give give give sell), one can make SOME money from it. TGP2, seems to me, to be a better bet for where to invest one's time. ------------------ TGP2 Bucks. $1/email. No deductions! |
