RRRED, here's a clue: most people have herpes. As long as it's not genital herpes you'll be fine. You might even have herpes too. Most people carry it around without being affected by it theirselves.

Well I'm not saying I was thinking of having sex with him anyway. I just met him and the getting to know him part was going very very well. I honestly have absolutely no knowledge about it or how to get around it or anything so I'm a bit ignorant and uneducated.

Damn though that really put a damper on things. He was really casual though.. he brought it up talking about an ex wife that cheated on him and gave him this. He wasn't even bitter. He was like it was no big deal. I'd have fucking killed her.

Cold sore is in your bloodstream (as is all herpeses), so it might break out at any part of your lip (face for that matter, I know a guy who had it in his eyebrow. lol).

As far as I understood 25% had GENITAL herpes? That's fucking frightening if true. lol.

Well, it itches like hell. But not like 'scratching' itch, as if you scratch it..it fucking hurts.

It lasts about a week or so, depends a bit. I have 'Aciclovir' gel that I put on it to stop the outbreak. If I put the lotion on as it starts to itch, it never breaks out. I've also used just plain honey, or snapped a twig off my aloe vera plant and rub it on it if I didn't have the lotion. It helps.
