No, but be careful. 50-80% of people in the states have some kinda herpes... and they might not tell you. :)

doesn't make you shallow..... i wouldn't date a guy with herpes either.... but then again.. i'm a straight guy wit ha girlfriend... so who knows... maybe you ARE shallow... i'll let you think about that while you lay in your bed re-capping the night and seeing if you are being unfair...

Yes, I think anxiety is the main reason for an outbreak and i'm almost always anxious free. Genetical herpes is more serious cause it will increases the chances to contact HIV. I have this cold sore for like 10 years or so and never bothered me. Maybe I should start dating people only with the same problem lol Rrred, you put the priorities in your life, nobody else. It's understandable this to worry you and possible turn you away from this guy, as you said many more like him. Personally talking I belong to the people that rarely found a person to communicate so something like herpes would be a smaller worry.

When I went in to do my hiv test, I asked for a herpes test as well. The doctor said, "why?"

"I just want to make sure..."

"Are you having outbreaks of any kind?"
he said.

"Well, no, but I heard you can still carry it."
I said.

"I can test you, but honestly, you will likely test positive. Most people have some strain of it. It really is a waste of time unless you are experiencing symptoms."
He said.

I confirmed this with a few of my med student friends.
