Colin knows his shit obviously, and is giving good advice to those of you who are making good money. If you don't listen to him then the next thread you will start would be " Why aint I making 20K a month anymore " .

I hear that shit all the time, people who make it then lose it blame it on the industry and not themselves. It's not that terribly hard to make it, it's a whole lot hard to keep it and keep making it. Sure you can hit a home run on an idea or technique to advertising, but people will copy you and do something better then you in no time at all, and if you don't keep reinventing your ideas every couple months you will lose income and like most people blame it on poor not being as porfitable any more lol.

If everyone else made $20K per month what would I make? If I only made $20k a month I'd die

You nailed it on the head. Traffic information can't remain secret forever, the key is to selectively share and profit from the resulting innovations/fixes. Information is one of a number of things whose value EXPONENTIALLY EXPLODES if it is SHARED. That's our philsophy behind http://justtraffic.blogspot.com

As a guy who has been up, down and then up again in this business the advice I would give to anyone is to not expect that your current income is going to last forever. Don't blow it all on women and toys. Build a good cash reserve for your business and yourself. Make it a goal to accumulate two years living expenses in the event you should need it. Make some investments if you can. Make a personal income spreadsheet that goes forward a few years showing income, savings and itemized expenses (auto, rent or mortgage, school loans, entertainment, groceries, TAXES!, etc). Assume your income will stay the same even if if you think it will grow. Stick to the budget. Make sure you are accumulating enough cash and assets to meet your goals in a timely manner. Underestimate income, overestimate expenses.
great advice on savvy financial planning. thanks

Proof of that right here.

the ONLY thing post count means is how much time you spend on here posting. period. And if you have a large post count and 95% of you post are about your dinner last night or someone's car, etc... then you have way too much time on your hands and doubt you are making much money since you waste so much time with bullshit.

No crack needed.

you made $10k this year so far?

if most of it is profit, then you earned over $3k per month on average

if you are new, thats not bad. Remember, it's 2005, not 2001 or 1998.

hey clickhappy

Those are pretty good stats. Can you double your traffic or have you maxed it out? Are conversions from your core sponsors stable, hot or cold?

im semi-new, i have those rebills from the past. But im really busting my ass and all I hit are dead ends.
My eyes are killing me right now from looking at the screen so long, im burned out. making sites, submitting, making sites, submitting.

I dont espect to wave a magic wand around and poof the checks come rolling in, but I thought id be doing better than I am right now.

I dont know, i need new sponsors or something, cuz I really am working and im getting nowhere.

no my traffic source dried up.
it was an incredible source too, i hit just the right traffic with just the right ad and was doing 1:50 ratios and it was rebilling nicely and building up.
Then the traffic left.
I was very proactive and tried every traffic broker I could think of and none of them brought good results.

Well said... I started with TGP's... Starting making $2000 a month, it was extra. I didn't need the money to live. So I built more. Then I realized I don't have that kinda time and merged their databases and then went looking for other things to do. PPC, both buying and selling. I sell on my TGP's and buy for my own galleries. Posting, I post only once in a while and only certain proven money making programs. SEO... I taught myself SEO and created free sites. Now I am at about 9K a month and based on my growth from only 5 months ago to now, I am certain I will be a 20K'er by years end...

Wierd, shit just all of a sudden clicked... Before November I was strugging... Do over a grand in a month and then well under the next month... But eventually I figured out about 20% of what Detoxed is talking about and the money started rolling in.

I remember when I'd be so fucking happy with a $35 sale a day.... Then when I regularly surpassed $100 a day I'd get so happy I'd take the family on REAL vacations... Then $200 wasn't shit and it is getting so that $300 isn't either...

I was told by someone... don't look to make 20K a month tomorrow. Look to make it in 2 years. How? Make 1 thing a day that generates 1 sale a week and will continue to do so for a few weeks to a lifetime.

Mathmatically it works out like this,

$sale = 20 (this is actually small)

for $x = 0 ; $x < 52 ; $x++ (Count the weeks in a year basically)

if $x / 12 then remove 20% revenue do to loss

Your next year:

700

The ending month you should have $4330 a month minimum. I have noticed that my begining cost per sale was about $19 and it is now $27. I am learning how to make more money per sale. So the numbers I computer here for you are a bit lower than what you can expect.

Google for all things Perl, PHP and Mysql. Learn how to make a networked 400 page website out of 2 pages and some ingenuity.

Stop asking people blanket questions.. "How do I make $20K a month?"

Start asking yourself how you can generate 1 sale for the week, today.

If you start getting behind.. Work smarter annnnnd a little bit harder, but mostly smarter.

$sale = 20 (this is actually small)

for $x = 0 ; $x < 52 ; $x++ (Count the weeks in a year basically)

if $x / 12 then remove 20% revenue do to loss

Your next year:

AWESOME POST! PROPS !

I'm getting killed this month (April) especially. I was bouncing around trying different niches. first big tit, then lesbian, then ebony, then foot and now indian. Im getting killed on Indian, Ill be upside down this month because of indian content and traffic and no sales from it at all.

I think Im going to do the Quiet route and just put together a kick ass avs and promote the hell out of it, then when its ready move it over to a paysite and continue promting the hell out of it for a few years, and let the rebills roll in.

I really cant think of another way to start making $10k-$20k a month.

i've come close but never hit 20k on any given month but im willing to bet part of the reason ppl like detoxed can make such numbers is because of the contacts he's made over the years.

Oddly enough, you don't make 20K a month by networking... unless you mean learning techniques from people. I have found that being 'quiet' is a good technique and so is not partnering up. Partnerships are good for knowledge if you both have ideas the other needs, but rarely are not one way or lopsided with one partner reaping much more benifit than the other.

Everybody who thinks we can all be making 20k a month is smoking crack and I want some of it.
Come on fuckers, why doesn't every movie gross 300 millions $? And why doesn't every fast food restaurant have as many locations as McDonalds?

Same fucking reason as for porn. The market can only take so much. There is a total amount spent on porn and porn related products every year, and it won't go up forever, making the whole market like a big pie. Sure the pie gets a little bigger every year, but basically, the people making more money have a bigger part of the pie. When somebody starts making more money it means that somewhere else, somebody is making less. This can be explained for many reasons (better product, better prices, better services etc...)

Thinking we can all make 20k a month is noncense, unless somebody somewhere goes from making 100k a month to 20k a month so that 4 other people can make 20k.
