i wouldnt worry about it unless your mailing from your domain. Most likely its a site on a virtual servers so the mail server is shared. Its very likely that if you went and got a new website and signed up for hosting your site would show as a blacklist because of the ip.

SPEWS is a blacklist of blocks of IP addresses. If someone is spamming through, for instance, an open relay, the IP address of that SMTP server will eventually end up on SPEWS.
CATCH: The people at SPEWS are stupid, lazy, fat ass arrogant bastards. They'll blacklist an entire block of say 1000 IP addresses which might affect an entire ISP or a significant chunk of it. So 999 legitimate servers (or IP addresses) will end up blacklisted because of one asshole. Now, just try and get SPEWS to remove the 999 legitimates, and see what happens. NOTHING. They sit in their chairs eating jelly-filled doughnuts and not caring one fucking IOTA that they have just fucked over 999 people and will not bother to fix their lazy mistake. I had to change servers twice in the last few years because of their bullshit. The only thing you can do is change servers. SPEWS will not put the money and effort into refining their blacklist practices because there is no incentive (other than common ethics and decency) for them to do so. In my view, they're worse than the spammers they blacklist. |
